Active, wireless, and remarkably intuitive, the Diva Mezza Utopia showcases the very best of Focal’s acoustic prowess combined with Naim Audio’s electronic expertise.
At first glance, Diva Mezza Utopia sports familiar designs of elegant aesthetics, featuring Utopia’s signature dual tweeter grille, Yin & Yang symbol, and bi-tone ring design elements. Yet beneath its sophisticated exterior lie substantial advancements in acoustic engineering and performance capabilities. Designed to comfortably fill rooms up to 1,076 square feet, each speaker is driven by an impressive 500 watts of Class-AB amplification – carefully distributed across separate amplifiers for the treble, midrange, and bass frequencies. According to Focal, this design ensures crystal-clear detail, unparalleled dynamics, and rich, impactful bass.
The Mezza's robust sonic foundation comes courtesy of four 8-inch ‘W’ bass woofers sonically positioned in an optimized push-push configuration. This setup significantly reduces vibrations while delivering a deep, more articulate low-end response. A Pure Beryllium ‘M’-shaped inverted dome tweeter paired with a 6.5-inch mid-bass ‘W’ driver further enhances the speakers' ability to produce an impressively wide and immersive soundstage.
The Diva Mezza Utopia is among the first speakers to employ Ultra Wideband (UWB) technology, allowing for uncompressed, high-resolution wireless audio streaming at 96 kHz/24-bit quality. That’s better than CD quality and perfectly aligned with Hi-Res audio flavors. And, for audiophiles seeking even higher fidelity, a direct-wired connection is available, enabling 192 kHz/24-bit playback. The Intelligent Dynamics Clocking (IDC) ensures impeccable synchronization between channels, further elevating the clarity and coherence of the audio presentation.
Personalization is also front and center with Focal’s proprietary ADAPT technology. Through the Focal & Naim app, listeners can calibrate their system according to room acoustics and individual preferences, creating a custom-tailored audio experience. The app also manages streaming services such as Spotify Connect, TIDAL, Qobuz Connect, and others, alongside compatibility with smart home ecosystems like Control4 and Crestron.
From a design standpoint, Diva Mezza Utopia embodies Focal’s commitment to luxury and durability. The cabinet, crafted from a high-density polymer, provides structural rigidity, while the speaker’s ivory felt finish and floating side panels enhance its visual elegance. Additional refined touches, including a brushed aluminum accent ring around the tweeter, further reinforce Focal's distinctive aesthetic.
