Proud to announce that LG selected our company to be the launch partner for their new dual laser 4K HDR UST projector, HU85LA.

LG's first allocation is scheduled to arrive in our store this Thursday, July 25th and our launch demo event is scheduled for Saturday, August 3rd. Hope to see many of our AVNirvana friends!

Just updated our HU85LA webpage with technical specs and more information.

Looks like a decent product, laser, two year warranty, HDR10 with dynamic tone mapping, 2700 ANSI lumens and a touted 2 million to 1 contrast ratio all below $6K.

I can't wait to see some real numbers from this projector! :T

Thanks mech! We're calibrating our two store demo HD85LAs. What numbers would you like?

Everything you can get me!! :) Color Volume, Color Checker charts, Contrast Ratios, etc. all for the various picture modes. And I know that's a lot to ask Robert! Whatever you can get would be great! Is John doing the work?

Thx mech! Yes, John along with a projector calibrator friend is doing the HU85LA calibrations.

Any word on some readings Robert? How many nits is it capable of for HDR?

I'm very interested in this too. I'm really wanting to know if their proposed contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1 is at all accurate as compared to their previous model laser projector. Also, very curious about input lag as I would like to do some light gaming on it. Any info would be a great help! Thank you!

LG HU85LAs are in the house! I had these air freighted in, the next shipment will arrive in a few days.

We'll get one set-up by the end of today in our new Salamander Designs HU85LA custom cabinet and SI ALR 110" screen.

Just did a very quick set-up. Here's a cell phone pic:

Here's a few folks in our HU85LA theater looking in amazement at the gorgeous image.

Sorry for the underexposed pictures on the screen. This photo was taken with all of the lights in the showroom on and the camera exposed for the two people, not the projected image on the screen. In person the image on the screen looks great.

Here's new video from Youtube celebrity SpareChange. Shane visited us today and shot this video live at our demo launch event.

Check out SpareChange's Youtube video filmed at our premier launch demo event.

I really like the short throw projectors...just need them to go bigger on the screen size. Am I correct in assuming that a short throw projector will give you a brighter picture than a normal projector due to light fallout due to distance?

Yes that's basically true, but it's based mostly on the projector's luminance capability. LG's HU85LA delivers 2,700 Nits.

Very nice HU85LA review by Art Friedman of Projector Review.com.

I expect a couple corrections shortly, but this is a very well written and thorough HU85LA article.

Check out this very cool time lapse video one of our HU85LA clients created.
