(July 22, 2021) Klipsch has officially launched its all-new Cinema series of sound bars. The series is headlined by the Cinema 1200, a 54” wide sound bar that ships with a 12” wireless subwoofer and wireless Dolby Atmos-certified surround speakers. The 1200 opens access to a compact version of 5.1.4 output derived from a base of 7.1.4 Atmos decoding. The step-down Cinema 800 is slightly smaller (48" wide) and includes a 10” wireless sub, giving owners 3.1 sound out of the box, with the option to purchase Klipsch Surround 3 wireless speakers for a more enveloping 5.1 experience. The series is rounded out by the Cinema 600 (45” sound bar,10” wireless sub, 3.1 output) and Cinema 400 models (40” sound bar, 8” subwoofer, 2.1 sound).

The Cinema 1200 and Cinema 800 both possess 8K HDR passthrough, Dolby Vision compatibility, and HDMI Enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC connectivity). HDMI eARC allows for a system’s television to send Dolby Atmos encoded audio to the sound bar through a single HDMI capable cable. The Cinema 600 and 400 models lack eARC, replacing it with Audio Return Channel (ARC), a technology capable of passing non-immersive codecs.

Each model utilizes a variety of fiber-composite cone woofer and proprietary 90° x 90° Tractrix horn driver arrays. And all models (excluding Cinema 400) work with the Klipsch Connect app for product firmware updates, quick setup guide videos, one-tap support, product registration, and more. EQ customization and a virtual remote control are expected to be available in August 2021.

Priced at $1,699 (Cinema 1200), $879 (Cinema 800), $499 (Cinema 600), and $299 (Cinema 400), all four models are available now at Klipsch.com, AudioAdvice.com, and Crutchfield.com. For more information, visit www.klipsch.com.
