It's here folks!

Friday.

So, what's on tap for the weekend for everyone?

I'm staring at work... probably quite a bit on Saturday... a winter swim meet for my oldest daughter...a soccer game for the younger one... and on Sunday I'm planning on getting up around 3AM to trek down south into Carolina to pick up a pinball machine that I've been hunting for (maybe 4 months?). The deal is sealed, so no turning back now. Not looking forward to the ride, but worth it ;-).

Hey Todd, looks like I have my weekend cut out for me (pardon the pun). After the last storm blew down trees here in T-Town, I've been busy collecting logs & sawing them into lumber. A friend of mine has a 22 hp band sawmill that he is letting me use.

I found 5 huge pines next to the road on a private lot & convinced the city to top them so I could harvest them for lumber. They agreed since they would eventually fall towards their power lines. So I'm going tonight to finish cutting them down & start loading them onto my trailer so I can saw them up tomorrow. So far I've cut about a thousand board ft of Pine (2x4's, 4x4's, 4x6's and 1x 14's & about 70 ft of Cedar--10 more of the Cedar logs to go).

So, I'll be busy this weekend!

Love out door work. Have fun, Tonto!

Went to the practice range and shot my bow this afternoon then had dinner at Wahoo. Pretty respectable Crawfish Etouffee for a Florida restaurant. Not as good as mine, of course, but what respectable Cajun would not say that (if there is such a thing as a respectable Cajun).

Dog to the vet tomorrow, working on the new fence that needs a few final touches before painting, then back to the practice range. Getting ready for the Gator Cup here in a month. This will be my first tournament in over 20 years.

Working on the cabin by the pond... as a matter of fact... I need to get some sleep so I can be able to get some work done. Night night!

Here we are... FRIDAY and a 3 day weekend as a bonus!

Anyone have any plans? Lots of family stuff on this end... and, unfortunately, have some project work I need to dig deep into. I do hope to get our screened-in deck un-winterized and cleaned-up. Have a new grill coming in next week -- need to be prepared to use it (next friday!).

We are closing it up on Monday... although I've been off several days already.

Not much going on. We use to host some cookouts, but don't plan on a big one this year. I do plan to cook up a bunch of meat on the grill... and some peppers with stuffed sausage and cream cheese.

Oh, it is a joyous friday....I have the weekend off, to include monday. This will be nice after the long week I have had. I think I will throw down a rack of ribs. Slow cook them for 3 hrs.

Gator Cup is this weekend. It will be the first archery tournament that I have shot in over twenty years. It is one of the major target tournaments of the year.

The production line at work slowed to a crawl, so many of us were offered the opportunity to cut out midday (10:30 am for us early risers). Got a jump on my lawn work so that is out of the way.

Going to Kansas tomorrow for a family reunion. I was gonna pass it up this time around, but have a favorite aunt in poor health and need to spend a bit of time with her as I fear she won't be with us much longer.

Stay safe out there, travelers!

TGIF!

Nice weekend coming up... we are swim family, meaning both of my daughters train year around, and the summer league in our area is always lots of fun. Competitions are points based, so teams square off against each other and score points to determine a winner. Last weekend, their team defended their home pool and won a pivotal divisional relay meet. So, I'm looking forward to watching them compete this weekend. Both of my girls have some outstanding times in the Maryland league they swim in...and it's always exciting to see them square off with good competition. There's lots of super talented swimmers on the team they swim for... kids I've watched grow up over the last 10 or 11 years. Last weekend was a great weekend for them and their team... hope it continues!

Believe it or not, Maryland/DC/Northern VA is a hotbed of swimming... you know the names Michael Phelps and Katie Ledecky from the Olympics. Both are locals. And there are lots more in the making from around here. Pretty cool to see kids with top national times hopping in the pool!

Otherwise, I'm hoping to take a breather and play some pinball...that hasn't happened enough since the launch of AV NIRVANA ;-). I'm also finishing up an Aperion review... and prepping for a trip next week to New York City for CE Week. Looking forward to getting to NYC... really enjoy the urban vibe of that town. I'm trying to convince my wife to buy a small pad there for extended visits post-kids living at home (that's a work in progress;-). Hoping to catch up with some familiar faces and see some slick TVs. Full report next week!

Hope everyone has a good one.

Gonna be digging some holes for 6x6x16ft treated post... 9 holes to be exact. We want to get these set for our 500yd shooting house. Gonna be a schorcher too. It's been rather nice up until recently, now summer seems to be here. That ole hot and muggy and sweat drenching weather that we LOVE so much in south Alabama.

TGIF!

Hope everyone has great weekend plans!

We have one last weekend of summer swim seasons on the plate... both of my daughters made it to All Stars (proud Dad!!) in the MCSL league here in Maryland, so happy to watch them go out and throw it down against some of the area's best.

Other than that... prepping for a little time off soon... so, that means putting the final touches on the SVS Ultimate Atmos System Review! Phew...really tough work. :T

If this rain ever quits, I'll have to break out the grill, too ;-)

Nothing special planned, just glad to be off work, cooling off my exterior in the AC, my interior with Deschutes Fresh Squeezed IPA, chilling my ears and mood with Yes.

Happy Friday. This weekend unfortunately is yard work. Tons of weeds to pull.

Watching my Royals hopefully finish off Boston for 9 in a row. Probably going to watch Everest and then hit the sack. Tomorrow a bit of grilling and having a friend from HS and his family over for dinner. Sunday a lot of yard work.

Go Royals!

I'd be there in heartbeat if I could!

We gave up our vacation fund for these in '14 and would love to do it again!

Jealous!!!!
I was very fortunate to be able to attend. I was also very fortunate that my good wife agreed to forgo a sandy beach for bleachers and beer.

You are a lucky man and never forget it.
