Is WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) a Sport?

Lot of folks will argue it is a sport and others will argue it is entertainment (scripted), essentially a long soap opera?

Any thoughts?

Not a sport.

Yeah, I agree as well. Similar to what you see at a carnival show or some acrobatic event since the end result is well known.

But, alas some people refuse to believe that.

I used to watch it when I was (a lot) younger. Back then it was the WWF.
What did it for me back then was a "sleeper hold" where both actors were facing each other and one held his fingers on the neck arteries of the other and he would be rendered unconscious.
I thought to myself "why doesn't he just take a step backwards".
