Installed REW, but crashes when launching the app

I installed REW, but it crashes when I attempt to launching the app. I am running it on an M1 macbook with OS 12.6.

Things I've tried so far…
Restarted the Mac
Turned off Firewall (not sure if there is any reason to do this or not)
I tried installing it with all the different RAM options and nothing seems to work.
Tried launching it in Rosetta mode

any ideas?

You could try setting your default audio input and output to be the on-board audio to see if REW can launch then, in case there is some compatibility issue with your audio interface. I'm not very optimistic though, sorry, REW doesn't try to access the interfaces until it needs to output or capture audio.

You could also try the latest V5.20.14 early access build.
