Dear Staff:

In reference to thread, Show Off Your Pet:

I linked a pic from dropbox the same as others in a different part of the forum. It shows up for me, but not for Tony (and others?). Please take a look at this issue to see if its something I'm doing, or if the site needs tweaked.

P.S. An alternate method would be to use the ATTACH function, but I couldn't find one.

I believe it's because you need a password to access your dropbox, Therefore, those of us without your password cannot access it. You should use one of the free pic hosting sites and use them instead.

Ok I tried copying the URL via photobucket and it inserted stuff that wasn't needed. So the above picture's link is this:

So using the photobucket original link:

gives me the above picture when you paste it directly in the message - without the 6 *s.

I don't know about photobucket and dropbox... but there are countless ways to add photos. The mostest easiest simplerest way is to right click the image, copy ... then right click and paste it directly into the post. A simply copy and paste. Like this:

Or you can upload it to the gallery and embed it in a post by clicking on the camera icon in the editor tools and selecting the image you want to embed.

Thanks, that worked better than Dropbox for me! Glad you noticed the password issue. But Photobucket was still quirky with certain JPG files - the same one's that caused Dropbox to hiccup.

You might find this next method useful as well:
I found the equivalent of an attach function (called INSERT FILE) under the post-editing MORE OPTIONS button. Just click and browse to the file on your local drive.

Rodger that, Sonnie. I can't be sure if the issue arose during post creation or editing, but copy/paste functions were disabled. CTRL-C / CTRL-V were unresponsive, and COPY /PASTE functions were greyed out in the pop up menus. Do you think staff might have special privileges? In any case, I discovered one of the many alternate methods you mentioned (it was hiding under MORE OPTIONS > UPLOAD A FILE).

When I quote your message, I can see the code:
(ATTACH=full)380(/ATTACH) but no image. Should I get on a PC to find out if it makes a difference?

On PC - Testing copy/paste from local drive to body of post being created:
RMB Copy/Paste are greyed-out and CTRL-C / CTRL-V don't work

Same result for editing a post.
