HYPERSUB Goes Bigger: Frontier F-24 DUO Packs Dual 24-Inch Infrasonic Power

(March 10, 2026) HYPERSUB continues to build momentum with the expansion of its Frontier subwoofer ecosystem, introducing the new Frontier F-24 DUO, a dual-opposed 24" architectural infrasonic module designed for large and very large home theater environments. The release arrives shortly after the company’s recently announced F-21 quad array system, reinforcing HYPERSUB’s push toward scalable, data-driven bass architectures.

The F-24 DUO is engineered as an infinite-baffle module, meaning it’s designed to integrate directly into architectural structures such as seating risers, baffle walls, or other cavities. Instead of relying on a traditional enclosure, the design uses the surrounding room structure as the rear acoustic volume. That approach allows the system to extend deeper into the infrasonic range while maintaining efficiency and control, particularly in larger theater spaces where traditional subwoofer cabinets can become impractical.

At the heart of the F-24 DUO are two long-throw 24" neodymium drivers arranged in a dual-opposed configuration. This force-canceling layout reduces mechanical vibration and cabinet reaction forces while allowing the system to generate significant low-frequency output. The drivers are housed within a manifold designed specifically for architectural installations, and the assembly is sized to fit behind a standard 20" by 30" HVAC grille, allowing it to be concealed by acoustically transparent fabric walls or integrated into structures without drawing visual attention.

According to HYPERSUB system designer and Acoustic Frontiers founder Nyal Mellor, the design goal was to create a predictable infrasonic solution capable of hitting modern performance targets in large rooms. Mellor notes that the F-24 DUO’s reaction-force-canceling manifold and matched DSP amplification were engineered specifically to help integrators meet CEDIA/CTA RP-22 reference performance targets, even in the most demanding theater environments.

Power for the module comes from the dedicated HYPERSUB 224D/C rack amplifier, which delivers 2 × 2,400 watts RMS at 4 ohms and includes installer-level DSP control. The amplifier provides 10-band parametric equalization per channel, along with adjustable low-pass and high-pass filters, delay, polarity, level control, and limiting. Connectivity includes balanced XLR inputs and speakON connectors, allowing the system to integrate into professional-grade home theater signal chains.

Like the rest of the Frontier family, the F-24 DUO is designed to operate as part of a broader system architecture. HYPERSUB’s approach encourages integrators to build bass systems using combinations of its F-15, F-21, and now F-24 modules to create scalable arrays capable of delivering consistent low-frequency performance across large seating areas. The company also notes the system is intended to work alongside modern room optimization technologies such as Trinnov WaveForming and Dirac ART, both of which rely on coordinated multi-subwoofer arrays to improve bass uniformity and seat-to-seat consistency throughout the listening space.

HYPERSUB emphasizes that its design philosophy centers on measurement-driven performance. According to the company, every system is validated to a 1 percent performance tolerance and undergoes more than 2,000 quality control checkpoints during manufacturing, with testing procedures aligned to CEDIA/CTA RP-22 guidelines to ensure that published specifications translate into predictable results in real-world installations. While final laboratory validation is still underway, the company estimates the F-24 DUO will deliver 123 dB maximum linear SPL (AES75, 1 meter, free space) and 130 dB broadband peak output (ANSI/CTA-2020B R-2020, 1 meter, half-space).

Translation? Amazingly potent bass.

The HYPERSUB Frontier F-24 DUO is hand-built in Canada and ships with a four-year warranty, which can be extended to six years when calibration is performed by a certified HYPERSUB representative. Availability begins immediately through authorized HYPERSUB integrators, with pricing determined as part of full system designs.
