I have owned this one. It is excellent for both music and HT applications. Not much out there that canhang with this one in its price range. Got mine B-stock for $672 shipped! However, I am no longer using a sub. Have merely gone all 2-Channel. I do, however, use a Klipsch center only when watching a BR and /or TV. Using Wharfedale Denton 80th Anniversary bookshelves in my main setup and Wharfedale Diamond 220's for my desktop setup. Very fond of a warmer sound signature. Best wishes with the review. I will hold my specific comments until after the review. Great choice!

Cheers,

Phil

Hi Phil!

I'm curious to ask, did you try running them 2-channel sans subs?

Regards, Todd

Hello Todd I merely use all of the subs that I have owned with a set of stand mounts. Never been much of a HT guy. However, the ULS 15 MK2 is no slouch in that department as well. Musically speaking, the ULS 15 MK2 excelled! After your review I will include more details. Another sub you might want to review is the PSA S1500's. I had (2) of them. But, they are more expensive than the ULS 15 MK2. Thus, if a sub is NOT musical to my ears it goes. No exceptions. Both the ULS 15 MK2 and /or the PSA S1500's are the best sub(s) that I have owned to date! Trust me when I say, I have owned many many subs. Best wishes with your review!

Phil

You and I have a lot in common: a love of subs! Post review, would love to learn more about your journies.

This review is being split between two reviewers: one focused on the speakers and one focused on the ULS sub. They will intertwine to some degree... should make for some good reading ;-)

Catch you on the forum.

Thanks Todd. I do love a good sealed sub. However, I am extremely picky when it comes to the low end. If a sub is not musical it is going bye bye rather quickly. With proper EQ, room gain can be minimized/corrected. Placement is key! Articulation within the transients is a must have in my book. It is all about distinction inmho. Don't need a sub to play lower than the mid 20's nor one that plays extremely loud. However, I do like to rock out quite often.......LOL!!!! Punchiness is paramount!

Phil

Well... have you heard a SuperSub X?

:-)

I just reviewed one a few weeks ago... it falls right in the zone you're talking about!

No not familiar with the SuperSub X. Will be sure to look into it though. Nothing like reading up on new gear. Since I have gone merely all 2-Channel a sub is not required for me needs. I still use a center channel speaker. But, only when watching a BR/Movie/TV. Not when listening to my music. Looking to learn more about tube amps and SS integrated amps. That is one area I am lacking. Hope to rectify that asap. BTW, who makes the SuperSub X? Thanks!

Phil

I am not much on watching someone unbox an item, but you sure did a nice job on the video. :T

I think I might have been waiting for the music to break into a different rhythm at some point though. :sarcastic:

Nice looking sub... like that finish too. Looks like a pretty mean little sub.
