There is an interesting article in regards to cooking Bacon perfectly. See link here..

They recommend the best way is to cook bacon in water..

I always used the oven or frying pan but never tried the water method..

Any thoughts?

I usually cook in the oven at 400 with the bacon on an upside-down wire rack placed on a cookie sheet. Occasionally I'll cook in a cast iron skillet along with some eggs. The water in a skillet seems to be a rather odd way of cooking bacon.

Thanks Mark for your input. I do like your upside-down wire rack. Wonder what it looks like??

According to the folks who posted the video, water is the best method. I haven't tried it but it is interesting concept.

I deep fry mine in a 15" cast iron fry pan. I only cook bacon in it & I use bacon grease. The trick is knowing when to turn it. Time it so it gets 3 turns. Comes out great.

Cooking Bacon is indeed a science! :)

Well, imagine bacon on top.

Nice. Thanks for sending the picture. I was wondering what you meant. Now it is all clear. :)

typically wrapped around things... like chicken... shrimp... sausage... turkey... etc.

Yup. Mmmm. Or I'll just slam a pound on the griddle and cook it long enough to get the fat juice off :)

ewww... crunchy bacon??? oh hell no. Why did he kill the bacon like that????

Everybody has different tastes for bacon. :)

You're welcome. This method works pretty well, none of the bacon gets burnt as it cooks evenly and there is no need to turn.

Nice.. I will have to give it a try. Thanks once again.
