Hi! We are building a (guitar/bass cabinet) impulse response library available to the public domain.

Not everyone has access to expensive amplifier speakers and impulse responses are the "spirit" of those physical devices in a digital format.
We belive that the ability to produce a great sound should be available to everyone, so we built an open-source library where we can collect them all.

We literally just heard about this site, software (we have been using voxengo deconvolver so far) and are about to go down a rabbit-hole (?)

I'd like to welcome you, but you are an individual representing a company, and your first post is merely to advertise your company. Forgive me if I can't see this for anything other than disrespecting our website with advertising, clearly against our rules.

Well bummer, poor choice of words on my end in that case.

We are neither a company or make any money on the library (quite the opposite to be honest)

I tried to present what we do and which "niche" we are into.

Yes... elaborate, especially if it is something free and if it can benefit our members, we don't mind in that case. Initially, the post just comes across as an ad for your website.

I totally get that it does.
Anyway, we collect and record guitar/bass cabinet speaker impulse responses since they replace the need for a physical speaker cabinet and microphone (which cost alot)

As a bass player, I find this interesting. Can you elaborate more?

Regards,
Wayne

Absolutely, you can replace the microphone and speaker cabinet in the signal chain with an impulse response of the mic+cabinet.
Normally it would look something like this;

Instead, you simply go with something like this (or any pedal, component that can load impulse responses and use as a convolution reverb)

Here is two bassplayers from a little video we made where we let a couple of producers and musicians a/b-test impulse responses we made from their gear:
