I suspect this is an issue with how I'm setting up the DSP1124P but I wanted to post here in case someone can help...

I'm all set up with REW on a laptop to EQ my troublesome definitive technology DN8 subwoofer. Equipment List:
- Behringer ECM-8000, prefessionally calibrated and using 90 degree cal file in REW.
- M-Audio mobilePre USB as mic preamp
- Dell Laptop
- Denon AVR-2808
- Behringer BFD DSP1124P
- Definitive Technology DN8 Subwoofer
- Definitive Technology bookshelf speakers, not important here

After much reading on the excellent REW setup and use guide, I took my first SPL measurement, with no filtering applied on the BFD. I then used REW to calculate filter parameters for the BFD. After a lot more reading of the BFD manual, I manually input those values, and then took new measurements. As you can see, the response didn't change at all between measurements. I even created a dummy user present on the BFD with no filtering to confirm that it isn't affecting output. Screenshots attached for app parts in the process, including the display on the BFD, showing all 7 filters are active, but I'm happy to take more if desired.

Any ideas about what might be going on here?

Best I can recall filters are bypassed if the in/out LED is off, short press the button to re-enable.

Also, make sure it’s set for “Hz” and not “kHz.” That one gets people all the time.

The curve probably doesn’t need more than 4 filters. #6 and #7 are out of the subwoofer range, and #5 is near the crossover frequency, so anything it accomplishes will probably be blown out once the mains are added.

Regards,
Wayne

Thanks for your help! I had forgotten my crossover frequency between mains and sub, so I just gave REW a frequency that I knew would cover the sub passband. Lazy I know, but I had to get it done before the kids got home.

Now it's time to set everything back up and take some measurements with the filters running. I'll take your advice into account when I optimize further.
