My Name is Kenny and I've been working with REW for some time now. It's been a very slow process and some frustration. I upgrades about a year ago with a Yamaha Aventage RX780. At first I had no plans to take this AV stuff so serious like I am now. I'm hooked! I now wish I would have thought it out a little more probably getting something a little higher end as a starting point. I have some pretty old equipment that I am using for now until I get some good advice on how to build the best system that fits my budget. I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I have been using a Bose Acoustimass system for probably close to 15 years. After doing much research I decided to invest in some floorstanding speaker to elevate my two channel listening. My decision was Polk RTA7that I got on Amazon. Right away I felt I made a big mistake. The speakers were just too bright for my taste. At the time I had no subwoofer. Different people gave me advice that I should give it some time to break the speakers in and to try doing some room correction to get things sounding better. YPAO was my first experience with room correction. Still not satisfies so I invested in a UMIC. That's when I was introduced with REW. I had no idea it was going to be so difficult. I ran some measurements and I was so confused. This was something totally new and foreign. Needless to say I ended up returning the Polks and a few days later I purchased a set of Klipsch RP-280F. I haven't ran too many measurement yet but have been doing a lot of reading. I felt it was time to reach out to the REW community for help. I am disabled so I have a lot of time to dedicate to this new endeavor. I'm looking forward to making some new friends. So, if anyone would like to make any comments I am wide open to any advice.
