HDMI to the TV, from TV to receiver, Optical?

My neighbor has a Sony XBR X900F and wants to add a 4K Roku.

The only problem in the link is her receiver which is not 4K.

My thinking is to connect the Roku direct to the TV and run an optical out from the TV to the receiver

Will this do it?

Should do the job. Just make sure to change the tv setting too audio out optical.
