- Summary
- In this hands-on test, the AVPro Edge DA X2 proves it’s more than just a basic HDMI splitter. While many claim full 48 Gbps performance, most crumble under true max-bandwidth signals. Not this unit. It reliably passed a 4K120 12-bit 4:4:4 signal for hours without dropout, making it ideal for gamers, mixed-display setups, or any system that demands flawless HDMI 2.1 delivery. Add in advanced EDID management, per-port downscaling, and audio extraction, and you’ve got one of the most reliable tools available for modern signal distribution.
On this episode of HDMI TEST BENCH, we pace AVPro Edge's AC-DA-12X2 1x2 HDMI 2.1 Distribution Amplifier through a variety of tests. This device can evenly split an incoming HDMI signal between two HDMI outputs with variable resolutions up to 8K60. It's capable of handling HDMI 2.1b signals at 48 Gbps with 4:4:4, 4:2:2, and 4:2:0 chroma subsampling, as well as multichannel digital audio. Compliant with HDCP 2.3 and earlier, the unit also offers extended EDID management, including Custom EDID Blend support, which allows you to combine EDIDs from different devices, and can dump audio to an external source!
The question is: Does AVPro deliver on its claim of true 48 Gbps compliance? And does it supply a consistent, reliable connection? Watch the video review below and find out!
