What prompted you to purchase a deck? Please share your purchase with a picture or two and the reason behind the purchase.
 
Are they still make cassette deck players? I would think the way that the tape ages on cassettes, they wouldn't sound all that good these days.
 
New decks are being built by Pyle, Teac, and I think Onkyo (not sure on that last one) but they lack Dolby NR as (Dolby no longer licenses it) and their mechanisms are cheaply made. Large wow and flutter specs. Many new bands in the past 5 years have released their albums in the cassette format. Vintage decks that have been built before the 90s have increased in value as supplies dwindle.

I guess sitting in storage does that but I got the capstans shiny and clean again with a Q tip and alcohol.
