Hi there,
My name is Bob and I am living in Bucharest, Romania. A month ago, I discovered REW and I must confess that I am impressed !
I love to play with different equipments from the audio zone, but basically, I am a hamradio hobbyist. In my experiments and research, I used to use a lab impedance meter and a VNA - but I couldn't measure anything below 100 KHz.
Although I have developed my own method of measuring complex impedances / RLC components (using the function generator, the digital oscilloscope and some spreadsheets), I consider that REW is the best tool available now, that offers such an automated facility.
For the moment, I am testing REW to measure the ESR of the electrolytic capacitors and to see the response of some toroidal cores at different low frequencies.
Until now, I found that REW offers a very good precision (I compared the results obtained with REW to the results obtained using a professional INSTEK bridge and also with the measurements obtained by my own method mentioned above) and I would like to congratulate the author of REW for his work, implementation and especially for the decision to offer such a product for free. Today, we rarely find applications that offer the performance and facilities that REW makes available for free.
I will certainly welcome the author's efforts with a small donation.

Chapeau bas !

Welcome aboard Bob! Good to have you here at AV NIRVANA!
