(March 30, 2026) GIK Acoustics has expanded its bass trapping lineup with a new series of deep-panel solutions aimed at one of the most persistent challenges in any listening space: Low-frequency control. Let's face it, bass remains one of the hardest aspects of room acoustics to get right, whether you’re building a dedicated home theater, dialing in a two-channel system, or working in a studio environment. With this latest release, GIK is focusing squarely on extending performance deeper into those pesky nether regions using thicker, purpose-built designs.

The new lineup includes three models: the Classic Bass Trap Panel “60Hz,” the Amplitude Bass Trap Panel “60Hz,” and the FlexRange Bass Trap Panel “50Hz.” Each is designed to lower absorption below what’s typically achievable with standard acoustic panels, many of which struggle to deliver meaningful performance below 100Hz.

The approach here is straightforward. Increase depth, improve effectiveness. GIK’s new panels are built using thicker cores, ranging from 8" to 9.5", allowing them to absorb energy down into the 60Hz region and, in the case of the FlexRange model, closer to 50Hz. In practical terms, that’s where many rooms begin to experience the most problematic buildup, with standing waves and low-end smear that can blur detail and disrupt tonal balance.

The Classic Bass Trap Panel “60Hz” is positioned as the entry point in the range. It uses an 8" mineral wool core and is designed as a broadband absorber, offering improved low-frequency control with up to 25 percent greater performance than GIK’s thinner 6" panels. Stepping up, the Amplitude Bass Trap Panel “60Hz” applies the same low-frequency depth to GIK’s more design-forward hybrid platform. In addition to absorption, it incorporates elements of scattering and diffusion, giving it a broader role in shaping the sound of a room. The result is a panel that targets bass issues while also helping manage reflections and spatial presentation.

At the top of the lineup is the FlexRange Bass Trap Panel “50Hz,” which is built around GIK’s patented two-frame system. This model introduces a built-in air gap and multiple configuration modes, including Full Range, Range Limiter, and Scatter Plate. With performance extending down to around 50Hz and up to 30 percent greater low-frequency absorption compared to GIK’s 6.5" panels, it’s designed for more demanding environments where deeper bass control is required.

All three models have been independently tested at the University of Salford using EN ISO 354:2003 standards, and each is available in a wide range of finishes. GIK offers more than 20 Camira Cara fabric options, along with multiple sizes and customization choices, allowing these panels to be integrated into both dedicated rooms and shared living spaces.

Pricing starts at $79 for the Classic Bass Trap Panel “60Hz,” $129 for the Amplitude Bass Trap Panel “60Hz,” and $99 for the FlexRange Bass Trap Panel “50Hz.” All models are available now through GIK Acoustics’ website and regional storefronts. And, if you're attending AXPONA 2026, you can see them on display!
