(March 23, 2022) To mark the 10th anniversary of a merger that joined France's Focal and England's Naim, the brands have announced the "Focal Naim 10th Anniversary Edition" system. The two audio giants first announced their intent to merge during 2011, which eventually found the brands joining the VerVent Audio Group in 2014. Today, Focal and Naim products can be purchased from 10,000 retailers around the world, giving enthusiasts direct access to a variety of high-quality audio solutions for the home, cars, a studio, and even a yacht.
The celebratory system is designed to be "ready-to-play," featuring the Sopra N°2 loudspeakers finished with unique concrete side panels, a ‘tin’ front baffle, and a 3/4" tempered glass base plate with stainless steel spikes. The speaker's overall look, said to be "inspired by the grandeur of architectural creations," gives the 3-Way Tower an aesthetic appeal that's entirely unique, but its driver array steals the show. Utilizing dual 7" woofers, a 6.5" midrange, and a single IHL Beryllium tweeter, the Sopra N°2 delivers a frequency response that spans 34Hz to 40kHz (91dB. 8 Ohms).
An impressive array of Naim Classic electronics powers the Sopra N°2s. Components include the NAP 250 power amp finished in a Classic Series low-resonance anodized aluminum casing (80W per channel, 8 Ohms), the NAC 282 Stereo Pre-Pro which finds a NAPCS power unit independently feeding digital and control circuits, and the NDX 2 Network Player. The NDX 2 gives owners access to UPnPTM high-res streaming, AirPlay, Chromecast built-in, aptX HD Bluetooth, Spotify Connect, TIDAL, Roon, and more.
