(September 17, 2025) Epson has introduced Lifestudio, a new family of smart streaming projectors co-engineered with Bose and designed to make the big screen both simple and social. Every model in the lineup arrives with Epson’s latest 3LCD Triple Core Engine, integrated Sound by Bose audio, onboard Google TV, and an all-new Projection Studio app that allows friends and family to contribute photos and short videos to the screen in real time. All in all, it's a concept built to eliminate extra boxes and wires, transforming casual nights and planned events into shared experiences.

We’ve had the chance to dig through the spec sheets for Epson’s entire new Lifestudio projector family, ultimately gaining insight into how these five models compare and contrast. At the top of the range sits Lifestudio Grand (Buy on Amazon), an ultra short throw (UST) laser projector designed to anchor a room with a big-screen experience. Rated at 3,600 lumens of both color and white brightness, it’s a potential TV replacement candidate, bright enough for day or night, and backed by a 2.1-channel Sound by Bose system that includes a dedicated 80mm woofer for improved bass response (though the exact depth of output isn't specified). Add in eARC support for Dolby Atmos and DTS passthrough via HDMI, and it’s clear that Grand is the model aimed at living rooms and media spaces where size, sound, and versatility matter.

Step down to the portable and personal side of the family, and things split into two camps: Flex and Pop. Lifestudio Flex comes in two versions, with Flex Plus (Buy on Amazon) taking the lead. Flex Plus delivers 4K PRO-UHD resolution, HDR10+ support, and a brightness bump to 1,000 lumens, while also adding a tiltable stand and ambient lighting that allows it to double as a small table light. It even features Auto Low Latency Mode for gamers who want a responsive gaming experience. The standard Flex (Buy on Amazon) trims resolution back to 1080p at 700 lumens, skips the ambient lighting, and relies on a manual game mode. Both include Bose 2.0 stereo systems and the same quick EpiqSense 2.0 auto setup, so it’s really a matter of how much resolution and extra functionality you want.

Pop (Buy on Amazon) and Pop Plus (Buy on Amazon) carry the same portable DNA but are even smaller and more casual in design. Pop Plus offers 4K PRO-UHD and Auto Low Latency Mode, while the standard Pop sticks with 1080p and manual low-latency switching. Both are rated at 700 lumens, both carry compact form factors, and both use a 2.0-channel Bose audio system with a tweeter and full-range driver configuration. Color options differentiate them too, with Pop Plus coming in Navy or Black, and Pop arriving in White only.

What stands out across the board is how Epson has clearly tiered these projectors. Grand is the bright, room-dominating centerpiece. Flex Plus is the portable gamer’s choice, complete with ambient lighting flair. Flex is a more affordable entry into the lineup. Pop Plus takes the ultra-portable form and layers on 4K capability, while Pop is the most casual, everyday model.

Another notable change is Epson’s decision to unify model numbers worldwide. For years, projector names and designations varied by region, making it confusing to track reviews and specifications. Lifestudio is the first step in simplifying that, meaning a Flex Plus in Los Angeles is the same Flex Plus in London. It’s a practical move that will make cross-border support and coverage far easier. And while Epson has been active in calling out brightness inflation in the mini-projector market, the company notes that its enforcement activity is unrelated to this launch.

Pricing begins at $679 for Lifestudio Pop and climbs to $2,499 for the flagship Grand, with Flex and Pop Plus sitting between $799 and $999. All models include a two-year limited warranty with lifetime phone support, and are available now on Epson.com or the Amazon links provided below:
