Emotiva Establishes New Ship Date for Its RMC-1 16-Channel Processor
(Emotiva) The new RMC-1 Processor is set to ship in November(August 22, 2018) Having missed its first predicted ship date, Emotiva Audio Corporation says the all-new – not to mention highly anticipated – RMC-1 16-Channel Processor is set to begin shipping to dealers and customers on November 15, 2018.
Priced at $4,999, the RMC-1 delivers 16 fully balanced channels, including an all-analog preamp section, premium digital to analog conversion operated in a Differential Reference balance mono mode, audiophile grade componentry, and room correction featuring DIRAC Live. And for those owners looking for a more micro-level of tweaking, every channel carries an 11-band parametric equalizer along with full Room EQ Wizard (REW) compatibility.
The RMC-1 ships with eight HDMI inputs and dual HDMI outputs, all of which support the HDMI 2.0b standard. That makes for management of all current 4K video standards, including HDCP 2.2 copy protection and Dolby Vision compatibility. And while HDMI 2.1 remains notability absent, the RMC-1 is designed to be fully upgradeable with a modular design that can accommodate upgrades (such as HDMI 2.1) in the future.
“Since we first announced the RMC-1, it has been one of the most requested of our upcoming models, especially by custom professionals who understand the amount of performance and value packed in its chassis,” said Dan Laufman, President and Founder, Emotiva Audio Corp. “We achieved our goal of designing and building the best AV processor in our company’s history. Of course, we’re talking about Emotiva, so the price is drastically lower than what you would expect for such an extraordinary product.”
Codec-wise, Emotiva says the RMC-1 carries onboard processing for Dolby Atmos and DTS-X object-oriented surround formats (up to 9.1.6 speaker configurations). The company had originally stated that Auro-3D would be included as a separate purchasable add-on, however Auro does not appear to have made the cut.
