(October 23, 2017) Emotiva Audio Corporation has unveiled two new models as part of its configurable “Gen 3” modular amplifier X Series lineup. The new XPA-9 and XPA-11 offer pre-arranged output capabilities perfectly tailored to Dolby Atmos speaker arrangements ranging from 5.1.4 to 7.1.4 (and all iterations in between).

Tapping Emotiva’s top-shelf X Series of electronics and components, both amps utilize the same chassis and power supply found on other XPA Gen 3 amplifiers. Each chassis houses seven rear bays designed to accept one of two available amplifier modules: 300 Watt single or 65 Watt stereo. And the power supply, designed for efficiency and low noise performance, can automatically adapt to any line voltage between 100V and 250V.

"We created two dedicated similarly priced versions of our modular [XPA Gen3] amplifier to satisfy demand from customers who are anxious to upgrade to a world-class home theater with Dolby Atmos," said Dan Laufman, President and CEO, Emotiva. "The XPA-9 and -11 are world-class amps that are true to our company ethos to provide impeccable quality with remarkable value for the investment."

The XPA-9 Gen 3 ships with five 300 Watt single channels paired with dual 65 Watt stereo amp modules. The XPA-11 Gen 3 carries a three single channel and four stereo channel configuration. Each amp module features short signal path Class A/B amplifier circuitry and optimized Class H power topology.

The XPA-9 and XPA-11 are both priced at $1,999 and are available for purchase now.

In other Emotiva news, the company is showing dedication to its Canadian customers by offering free shipping on all purchases valued at $49 (and up). The company says its both “absorbing shipping costs” to North bound products, in addition to opening a returns and service office in Calgary. Emotiva says its new Canadian presence will provide streamlined service for customers looking to upgrade, repair, or returns products.

Nice update. Hopefully a review will be forthcoming. :)

I run an XPA-5. Fantastic gear!

They are good!

I really wish they would bring back the XPR series. Those were technologically among the best amps ever made. They were fully balanced dual differential from input to output meaning the lowest possible noise. Huge amounts of power. The only other way to get this kind of performance is the ATI signature series and for a lot more money.

I was really excited when I heard about these amps. They make it easy to power an entire Atmos system with one amp and keeps the large power to the main channels where it's needed.
