Forgive my lack of search skills, has anyone done a DIY portable column array? I haven't b
Some things I've been thinking about - what goes into designing the upper for max SPL for larger venues?
The EV Evolve 70 boasts "eight 4.7-inch high-frequency drivers, churning out a rafter-rattling 133dB maximum SPL"
The JBL PRX ONE says "12 vertically arranged 2.5-in. drivers distribute audio in a wide 130° x 30° dispersion pattern" for 130dB
The RCF Evox 12 says "eight 4-inch neodymium woofers... 130dB
The Maui 44 - 12 full-range speakers and four 1-inch tweeters with waveguides. 132dB
I'm interested in what goes into designing the speaker system for a pole mounted upper for big SPL, clarity, directibility, etc. All on the lowest budget possible without major compromise. So, what specs to look for in an inexpensive speaker to build some uppers?
