(January 3, 2019) We’re just days away from CES 2019 and AV companies are primed to unveil boatloads of new models and technologies. Today, Klipsch threw its hat in the ring with the announcement of several new lifestyle audio products, including five new soundbars.

Carrying Klipsch’s classic horn-loaded technology and design queues taken from its Reference speaker collection, Klipsch’s 2019 soundbar class offers sizes ranging from 40" to 54” in width. All five models, which can be purchased with or without subwoofers, offer some form of voice control. Google Assistant built-in is integrated with the Klipsch Bar 40G, while both the Klipsch Bar 48W and 54A add access to Alexa and AirPlay 2 functionality. Additionally, the Bar 48W is compatible with DTS:X Virtual:X immersive sound, while the Bar 54A brings Dolby Atmos to the table. Pricing for these soundbars ranges from $299-$1,599, with shipping expected to begin this spring (extending through fall).

Klipsch is also poised to demonstrate its latest WiSA compatible wireless speakers (models and pricing have yet to be revealed). Designed to be used with WiSA ready TVs, gaming systems, and computers, these speakers can be used to create a 5.1 high-performance wireless audio system. According to Klipsch: “the price for a Klipsch 5.1 wireless home theater speaker system is approximately half the cost of the company’s first generation offering.” Klipsch says these speakers will become available during early 2019.

The company is also further expanding its line of Heritage Wireless portable Wi-Fi speakers, complementing the recently announced “The Three,” which is set to receive more finish options to complement its classic design elements. Products from this category are priced from $149-$499 and also are set to begin launching this spring.

Finally, Klipsch is unveiling four new wired and wireless in-ear headphone models. Each T5 model is outfitted with the company’s oval ear tips for a richer bass experience while isolating exterior noise. These models will also hit store shelves during the spring, with prices ranging from $59-$499.

These truly wireless headphones are so popular right now and most of them really don’t sound good. Let’s see if Klipsch can buck that trend.

I heard from an industry insider about a month ago that battery capacity was actually the primary limitation to better sound.
