CES 2019: FIBBR Debuts Its 8K-Compatible HDMI Cable

(FIBBR) FIBBR's all-new 4-1 HDMI cable debuts at CES 2019.

(January 7, 2019) FIBBR is gearing up for an 8K world, debuting its all-new 4-in-1 active fiber optic HDMI cable. Featuring a super-slim 7mm design, the cable terminates to four HDMI plugs on either end, delivering high-bandwidth transmission up to a whopping 164 feet (50m).

“As a tier 1 manufacturer, we have the internal resources to quickly adapt to the changing specifications,” explains Joe Zhang, Product Manager for FIBBR. “There will always be early adopters and the display manufacturers will keep innovating to satisfy that need. We have created the 4-in-1 cable as a reliable solution for the high bandwidth required for these new 8KTVs with multiple inputs, while keeping the customer’s sensitivity of clean design in mind. Our new model with a single-cable slim design with a 7mm diameter, allows it to easily fit in a wide variety of installations.”

Additionally, FIBBR is addressing the forth coming needs of HDMI 2.1 by showcasing its single Ultra8K fiber optic HDMI cable design. It fully supports bandwidths up to 48Gbps.

Both new cables are manufactured with BendRobust technology, which allows for flexing up to 180-degrees without interrupting transmission capabilities, while also offering high resistance to external electromagnetic interference. Additionally, because the cables are fiber optic, they are single-directional. In order to avoid installation errors, the cables’ “source” connectors feature a SmartLED indicator that confirms proper connection and operational status.

FIBBR has yet to reveal pricing on either of these new products.

Is this one of those items that if you have to ask, you can't afford it?

I asked for pricing... hasn't been issued yet. But, yes, these aren't going to be cheap.

Have you tested the FIBBR HDMI cables before and if so, notice any difference between them and standard HDMI cables?

If not, they maybe good to use for loooong runs but not for the average home theater enthusiasts
