I would like to generate a pink or white noise signal (BW limited) to inject into an electronic variable crossover and view the resulting response at the low and high frequency outputs - has anyone done this using REW?

You can generate periodic noise over custom bandwidths and look at the output on the RTA.

Just loop the crossover output back to your sound card input. Signal generator and RTA for real-time analysis, or run measurement sweep.

Note that the result may differ with the RTA settings. In particular if the resolution of the RTA is inferior to the slope of the crossover filters.
If you want precision, you should do sweeps.
