(March 17, 2021) Cambridge Audio’s latest reveal is a refresh of its Melomania 1 in-ear headphones. The all-new Melomania 1+ takes the original design and injects app control, custom EQ settings, and a High Performance Audio Mode. USB-C fast charging and more memory foam ear tips round out the package, making the Melomania 1+ a highly-competitive option for in-ear fans shopping in the $150 or less category.

The Melomania 1+ can be worn for pleasure or during intense workouts, thanks to its 4.6g of weight and IPX5 certification guaranteeing performance when exposed to rain or sweat. And thanks to a wide variety of ear tip sizes, owners can effectively manage comfort and noise isolation. With nine hours of native battery life and up to four full charges using the included case, owners can use the Melomania 1+ for 45 hours without tapping an external power source.

Rigid 5.8mm graphene-enhanced drivers are employed to deliver sound. At the same time, playback is enhanced by app-controlled EQ settings and the same Hi-Fi grade amplification found in the company’s CX stereo amps. Dubbed the “High Performance Audio Mode,” this amplification is intended to improve dynamic range, deliver a wide soundstage, and result in less noise.

Onboard Bluetooth 5.0 supports both AAC and aptX codecs for reliable connectivity. Additionally, the Melomania app monitors the remaining battery life in each earbud, can receive firmware updates, and places lost earbuds on a map.

The Melomania 1+ costs $139.95 and is available now through Amazon and CambridgeAudio.com.
