(October 25, 2021) Bowers & Wilkins (B&W) recently introduced a heady refresh of its long-running Zeppelin all-in-one speaker. The result, according to B&W, is an intelligent streaming device that’s loaded with capabilities for an audio experience that's “more detailed and dynamic than ever.”

Fans of the line will immediately notice Zeppelin’s form factor, which mimics the shape of an actual zeppelin, is similar to year’s past. The speaker is available in two finishes (midnight grey and pearl grey) and carries a switchable, dimmable ambient light that creates a ‘halo’ lighting effect on its metal pedestal stand.

The driver array features two decoupled Double-Dome tweeters borrowed from B&W’s 600 Anniversary Series, 90mm midrange drivers outfitted with Fixed Suspension Transducer Technology (FSTTM), and a new 150mm bass driver. The tweeters are positioned at the far edges of the speaker, isolated by their own enclosures, and the midrange drivers flank the larger, centrally mounted bass driver.

Zeppelin’s streaming prowess is bolstered by AirPlay 2, aptX Adaptive Bluetooth, and Spotify Connect. And, the speaker can be controlled by the B&W Music App, which opens access to popular streaming services like Qobuz, Deezer, Soundcloud, TIDAL, TuneIn, and more. Outside of the app, playback controls include physical buttons on the rear of the unit and voice control using Alexa built-in.

B&W says future updates will include multi-room capabilities that allow Zeppelin to pair with new and old Zeppelins or, if you prefer, a multi-room system based on B&W’s own formation range of Hi-Res wireless speakers.

Zeppelin carries an MSRP of $799 and is available for purchase now.
