I like beer. Stouts are my favorite :)

Drinking this now:

Had this earlier in the week:

Looks like foamy coffee to me.

I loooooooooooooooooove beer. I brew my own normally, but I have been on a health kick recently trying to lose 30 lbs, and I'm missing my chocolate stouts and Belgian Saison's... especially with it getting HOT down here in AZ

That Old Rasputin is certainly a singular treat. Nothing else tastes quite like it.

I am a beer FIEND and will have plenty I can add to this thread as I happen upon them.

I actually did not like it at all, unfortunately. I was expecting it to taste like a stronger Old Rasputin with a nice bourbon character. It was not to my taste at all. It was buttery sweet. The brewmaster at North Coast Brewing described it as toffee-like. I don't know what toffee tastes like so I can't say. He said most people liked it but the few that don't, REALLY don't (his emphasis). I was in the latter category obviously. I was super bummed because I was really looking forward to enjoying it. If I ever see a different version of the BBA Old Rasputin I'll still try it because they haven't had feedback like this on previous versions. I'd also like to try the rye whiskey barrel or wheat whiskey barrel versions of XIX.

that 4Beans is a tasty TASTY brew

My beer tastes have shifted so much over the years... right now, my go to Guinness, Murphys, and Boddingtons in cans with actuators.

We vacationed in Ireland last year... what a treat to have pints of that creamy stuff straight from the tap! The real kind of tap! ;-)

Has anyone tried Treehouse? I keep hearing that it's one of the sleeper Microbrews out there (I believe it's from the North East... Mass perhaps?)

My weekday take-the-edge-off-after-work ale. $16 for a 15 pack, I chug 2 or 3 right out of the can.

My preferred style is pale ale and this leans more toward that than a full on IPA.

IMG_0758.JPG Nice home brewing pics Phillip. My taste in beers change with the seasons. The dark heavy Ale's are great when it's cold out and you just want a couple. I'm pretty loyal to KC's own Boulevard. Tank 7 in the winter and Wheat in the spring/summer. My beer is always 29 degrees.

You know what's weird? Lots of beers give me instant headaches. As in, two or three sips = headache. Oddly, not the Guinness's of the world do not, but many other beers do. I'm much more of a connoisseur of bourbon, which does not have the same impact.

Weird. Odd?

I'm a huge. HUGE.... fan of bourbon. Blanton's, High West, Filibuster...

Maybe we need to start a bourbon thread.

What's odd is I don't like hard alcohol (Tito's not mine) but I collect it. More the investment high end stuff. I'm sure I've got some sipping bourbon that you'd love but it will remain stored. :sneaky:

Any of you guys have Dogfish Head distributed to your area? They have a brew-pub a few minutes away from my home. Had a "Beer For Breakfast" stout last night that was super delicious... great place to grab bar food, too.

No, not here in KC anyway. I love micro brew type places like that though. They always seem to have great atmospheres for watching games or just trying something new on a unfamiliar menu.

They have locations in Delaware and Maryland... very tasty stuff. They have a Punkin Ale that comes out in the fall... love it.

I always take my kids over for burgers when my wife is traveling.

When the cat's away... :-)

Some DFH is distributed here. I've seen Midas Touch, Beer for Breakfast, 90M IPA, 120M IPA, and maybe a few others.

Top left is COOP Ale Works Territorial Reserve bourbon barrel aged imperial stout

Not in any order but the little glasses from Rabbit Hole Brewing are rum barrel aged Rapture brown ale, Midnight Snark bourbon barrel aged export stout, Mystic Rapture brown ale with coffee, Wonderlust saison infused with ginger and orange, Hole Lang Syne Belgian golden strong with raspberries and blackberries, and RYEteous Knight roggenbier.

Some of those look super tempting! Especially the top left. Wow

I had that last night and it was really good. Got better as it warmed of course :)

I also have a bottle to enjoy later:

My favorite was yellow beer. But time says no no no now.

Afraid I am the lightweight here. I like a Mike's Lime once in awhile, don't care for most beers I have tried.:justdontknow:
