.................................We strongly recommend enabling push notifications on this device so that you can be kept up-to-date with site activity. "

Is there any way to stop sending this message over and over and.............

The answer, as if I need to say it, is always No!

When are you receiving that message?

You can disable/enable push notifications in your user ID preferences.

@Sonnie might know of a setting that we can flip on the backside. It's just part of the software we use, lots of apps and services offer it. But it's not something we strategically implemented.

I wonder if a browser setting is causing the site to think you're new every time you log in? Do you see it when you log in by phone?

As far as I can see in our backend, you have push notifications turned off. Can you try logging out the site, clearing your cache, and then log back in? After that, just check and make sure that push notifications are still turned off in your settings?

Did that. No change.

Me too. The ever-present "AV NIRVANA would like your permission to enable push notifications." followed by "We strongly recommend enabling push notifications on this device so that you can be kept up-to-date with site activity. " if I click the X

Yep, it's also happening to me ever since I cleared my browser cache and had to login again to the site. Disabling notifications under user ID Preferences has no effect.

I just tried something that seems to have worked for me.

I use Firefox and thought that maybe something in its settings are conflicting with the AV NIRVANA push notifications setting. So I hovered my mouse over the Firefox shield and saw that it was blocking the items shown below.

So I clicked on the shield and turned OFF the Enhanced Tracking Protection.

I opened another AV NIRVANA window and was prompted again for push notifications, so that alone did not work.

I left the Firefox tracking protection OFF and went to the AV NIRVANA user ID Preferences setting and Enabled Push.

Firefox then prompted me to allow this website to send push notifications and I selected Allow, then AV NIRVANA thanked me for allowing the notifications.

I went back to the AV NIRVANA user ID Preferences setting and Disabled Push and then turned ON the Firefox Enhanced Tracking Protection.

I haven't been prompted to enable push notifications since making those changes.

Hmmm. That's interesting.

@Sonnie, is there a way we can help mitigate this on the backend?

We can turn it off completely I suppose... I checked to not show it and it doesn't show it to me... hasn't since I turned it off. I can't say why anyone else is having issues. As far as I know, these are the only members with issues. I'm not sure how many people really care for it... as I don't use it on any site... period. I assumed there were some who like it for whatever reason.

The option is now turned off for the entire site.

Perhaps if we get enough complaints for NOT offering it any longer, we can visit it again when we upgrade the forum... otherwise it is apparently not compatible with every computers/browser or it's unstable with XenForo software. :dunno:

I can see how this would be an annoyance. @Kal Rubinson, let us know if it doesn't fix!

It was an annoyance for me, too. Chrome user, I wonder if it is a Chrome "effect."

It has stopped now though. Thank You!

It may be... we just upgraded the website, so it may not remember all the settings we had selected. I just disabled Push Notifications again, so hopefully, that will fix it.

However... it should also be fixed to stop after you tell it "No" the first time.
