Automatic series averaging

Hi,

since a long time I have to measure again at increased noise and wanted to arithmetically average series per measurement file to improve the S/N ratio. I think this worked in earlier versions and is also described in the REW help. However, at least in the last two Mac versions (5.20.7 and 5.20.8 Pro), a file is created for each measurement run, so I have to average afterwards. Is this a bug or a new feature?

No, not a bug. If the input and output are on the same interface you can select multiple sweeps using the Repetitions control next to the sweep length control, those repetitions will be synchronously averaged to produce the result. You can also ask REW to make a series of separate measurements using the Measurements control, below the sample rate selector. Those could be manually averaged using the All SPL vector average.

Sorry, my mistake. I overlooked the "Repetitions" selection and was so sure that you set the repetitions under the "Sample rate". Thanks for resolving my knot.
