Whoa.

Around here we jokingly call Whole Foods "Whole Paycheck"... but it certainly has some super nice food offerings. This deal is a big one. I know Amazon has some concept grocery stores without checkout stations, this gives them access to huge network of stores.

This should be interesting to watch...

Never even heard of Whole Foods.

I get a few food items from Amazon from time to time, but for the most part, they are usually too high.

It's a high-end organic oriented grocery store chain. Very nice...but pricey. There's one a few minute walk away from my house. We shop there for some things - produce and meats - but there's no way you could reasonably buy a months worth of groceries there for a family of four.

Sounds similar to Publix, which we have here, but they are high.

yeah, Whole Foods is one of those "Trader Joes" on steroids stores where they sell organic meats and products that have had angels sing them to sleep. you know, the $19 a lb for bone in ribeye playces that advertise free range/free will/antibiotic free/allow the steaks to vote and be involved in politics stores. Usually most of the hipsters and soccer moms who believe in "superfoods" shop there. It's not uncommon to see a family of 2 drop $400-$800 every time they go there as everything they sell is basically labeled "ORGANIC!!!!"

It's crazy... and there is a local guy here I know that several times he has come into our store he talks about how bad the regular meat and veggies are for us. He eats mostly deer meat killed in the wild... and organic stuff.

Publix has a lot of organic stuff, but they also have regular (bad for you) food too.

I am a meat and salad guy myself... very few vegetables unless it's a meal with the family gathering or Sunday lunch when we eat at Amazing Grace restaurant. I like some good fresh turnip greens and stewed squash with my baked and fried chicken.

I'm a meat and salad guy too... well and Ice cream with a cold beer, but sadly that has had to take backseat with my weight loss trials :(

The best book you will EVER read in your ENTIRE lifetime dealing with weight loss: The Obesity Code by Dr. Jason Fung ... when you are ready to lose weight and actually keep it off. He dispels all the weight loss myths out there... like eating several small meals a day (worst thing you can do)... all the lies about health issues with eating fat. Calories do not really cause weight gang... high insulin levels cause weight gain. Of course eating the wrong foods will cause your insulin to spike... then your body has to have time to reduce those insulin levels before it will start burning fat again. I won't go into all of it... but suffice it to say it's a GREAT book even if you don't need to lose weight. Reading it will help you help others understand all the lies out there about weight loss. A good site that Dr. Fung is a part of is Diet Doctor. After 35 years of doing nothing but gaining weight, losing weight... and always gaining back more than I lost... up and down like a yo-yo... I finally figured out how to get it off and keep it off.

Sorry to get a bit off topic... but it is about food.

lol, I've heard of that one actually. Never read it, but heard about it several times.
