(July 30, 2026) KEF has announced LS LUXE, a new active wireless HiFi speaker system developed in partnership with designer Ross Lovegrove. Positioned as a fusion of sculptural design and acoustic engineering, LS LUXE pairs KEF’s 12th-generation 6.5" Uni Q driver array with Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT), an all-new technology called Velocity Control, and the company’s W2 wireless platform. Available in Dusk Titanium, Eclipse Black, and Mineral White, pricing across all three versions is set at an eye-popping $3,999.99.
LS LUXE continues KEF’s long-running collaboration with Lovegrove, whose previous work with the brand includes Muon, Mu headphones, and the Muo portable speaker. Internationally known for sculptural, organic forms, Lovegrove's fingerprints are all over the LS LUXE's physical form, with a rounded, low-diffraction enclosure fused with audio-friendly materials and design choices meant to foster clean sound with impressively deep bass.

At the heart of LS LUXE is KEF’s 12th-gen 6.5" Uni Q driver array with MAT. Uni Q places the tweeter at the acoustic center of the woofer, helping the speaker behave like a single point source. MAT is positioned in the back to eliminate unwanted sound from the tweeter, with KEF saying the technology absorbs 99% of rear radiation. The goal? Lower distortion, reduced coloration, and a more natural presentation across a larger listening area.
KEF is also using LS LUXE to introduce its Velocity Control Technology, or VECO, to a speaker platform. The patent-pending system uses a velocity sensor to monitor the Uni Q driver in real time, then feeds that information to a custom amplifier so the system can correct movement inconsistencies as they happen. In practical terms, KEF says VECO is designed to improve bass accuracy and reduce distortion, helping the speaker deliver a deeper low end that doesn't cloud detail elsewhere in the presentation.
Amplification is handled by a 100W Class AB amplifier and a 280W Class D current drive amplifier per speaker. KEF’s Music Integrity Engine manages the DSP side, using tuned algorithms to help maintain detail, tonal balance, and clarity as playback demands change. That system-level approach is one of the advantages of active wireless speakers, as the drivers, cabinet, amplification, and processing can be engineered to work together rather than leaving performance dependent on separate electronics.
Connectivity comes through KEF’s W2 wireless platform, which supports streaming from services including Tidal, Amazon Music, Qobuz, Deezer, and others. LS LUXE also supports Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, QPlay, AirPlay, and Google Cast, giving users several ways to stream from preferred apps and devices. For local libraries, KEF says owners can tap lossless formats up to 24 bit/384 kHz PCM and DSD from NAS drives or music servers.
Wired connections are also included, which gives LS LUXE more flexibility than a pure streaming speaker. Inputs include HDMI eARC, analog, optical, and coaxial, allowing the system to connect to a TV, CD player, game console, or traditional source component. Each speaker also includes a dedicated subwoofer output, giving owners a path to expand low-frequency output without giving up the clean two-channel footprint. Though, the speaker is factory specified to play down to 35Hz, which, on its own, is quite impressive.
Setup and control are handled through the KEF Connect app. A Normal mode provides guided setup with minimal adjustment, while Expert mode opens up more detailed EQ controls. KEF also includes Advanced Room EQ DSP to help tailor performance to the listening space, along with dedicated subwoofer presets for integration with KEF’s subwoofer lineup. Day-to-day control can be managed through the app or the included C3 Remote, which features an aluminum top plate, backlit buttons, and a customizable favorite button.
KEF is offering several accessories for LS LUXE. The optional S LUXE floor stands provide integrated cable management for a cleaner installation, while the K Stream interspeaker cable supports hi-res audio transfer with up to 8 meters of placement flexibility. And for users who want to avoid running a subwoofer cable, KEF’s KW1 wireless subwoofer adapter kit can connect LS LUXE to compatible KEF subwoofers wirelessly.
