Neutron HiFi DAC V1
Hi Everybody! Developer of Neutron HiFi software and hardware here :)

Registered on the forum while actively using REW for debugging Neutron HiFi DAC V1's not yet released DSP - Adaptive Loudness Compensation.

Received beta software update notification inside REW, got to the forum to download it and ended up registering a user out of curiosity...

Welcome to AV NIRVANA.

How's your development going?

It is going well :T The to-do is endless guaranteeing endless development 😄

ALC DSP, mentioned in my first post, is already is in DAC V1's firmware serving its users. Now considering to push it to Neutron Player too in some next updates as it appeared to be a very useful DSP.

So to clarity... you have the phone app music player and portable DACs?

Yes, historically - Neutron Music Player and Neutron Audio Recorder apps. In 2024 launched own portable USB DAC (Neutron HiFi DAC V1) and USB Isolator (Neutron HiFi Isolator V1) devices.

As a side note, DAC V1 is not usual, or one more, portable USB DAC dongle. It is based on general-purpose ARM Cortex-M4 MCU (NXP) with in-house developed firmware which hosts Neutron-specific DSP (PEQ, Crossfeed, Surround, FRC, ALC) you can check capabilities in its Details page on Neutron HiFi web site (couldn't post a link). I'm quite proud of it, as managed to cram a lot of functionality into such small device.

Yeah... a few more posts and you can post links.

What is the general use of your products... gimme a scenario of how one would be set up with your gig.

There are an infinite number of scenarios - starting from portable use (Neutron Player on smartphone + USB DAC for hi-res, high quality audio output to your IEMs or over ear headphones) up to stationary use on PC where DAC V1 can also excel and compete with stationary USB DACs if you are using capable headphones because you get again DSP and high precision output which is confirmed by "Neutron HiFi DAC V1 Review" on Audio Science Review forum. Neutron Player and Recorder are ported to Win32 and thus you get its goodies on PC too.

Many users offload DSP from Neutron Player to DAC V1 and get similar experience with all possible audio sources.

Isolator V1 is USB isolator, so its usage scenario is common to USB isolators - break ground-loop noise, with specifics that Isolator V1 has a very low parasitic capacitance (input noise can't be coupled and passed to the output).

Something like that :scratchhead:

Read the review of your DAC V1. Nice work!

Excellent review... always good to get positive feedback from Amir. I bet you sold a few units after that one.
