If the 2nd through 4th Qtr Bama team continues to show up, good things could happen. Their 1st Qtr play was so bad I almost turned it off and went to bed early Friday night, lol.
What a year it’s been. A tale of two Tides.

Good games yesterday and more on tap for today!

We’ll be seeing a lot of red today in Pasadena.

May the best crimson win… Roll Tide!

Indiana massacred Bama. I was glad to see Mack get some playtime.

I keep thinking this is all about the portal, considering Indiana's record. However, you still gotta have a coach who can put together a coaching staff, and gel all those players into a team. Cignetti did just that, coming to Indiana in 2024. He also had a fine record previously at James Madison. I know Lane is the one who put together the team at Ole Miss, but I'm impressed with what Pete Golding has done these last two games... he's maintained. Oregon... the outlying team here... still in it, with the fewest portal players over the last couple of years of the 4 teams remaining.
  • 2021: 2–10 overall
  • 2022: 4–8 overall
  • 2023: 3–9 overall (third straight losing season)
  • 2024: 11–2 overall (breakthrough with CFP appearance)
  • 2025: 13–0 undefeated regular + playoffs before CFP title game (Big Ten champs)

You’re probably on to something here, but I think the money spent would be just as or more telling than the number of players.
No doubt all the universities are looking at/for statistically meaningful correlations between portal activity and successful outcomes.

Indiana massacred Bama.
That’s putting it mildly. I had the game over with that fiasco of a 4th down in the 2nd quarter. Almost everything leading up to the play being run made Bama look ridiculous. Running the play said DeBoer lacked confidence the team could win and it was all down hill from there.
