I have been in every setting I could think of, even when going to 7.1 in sound settings, I have windows 10 and even when I went to sound in computer It showed me all seven speakers, when I clicked on each speaker individually the only speakers that had sound were Right & Left and my computer is not on stereo. I looked in Rew help menu and followed every setting for setup and still nothing. Went to pulldown menu for speaker output and selected each speaker individually went to center channel sound came out of both tower speakers went to SL sound came out of left tower speaker. Does anyone have any suggestions. I have also tried asio4all and my Yamaha Processor does not show up only SST audio or HD audio speaker.

What mode is the Yamaha set to? Is it downmixing to stereo?
“Direct” mode which bypasses all processing is my recollection for Yamaha devices.

I agree, if Pure Direct is turned on it bypasses other functions, and multi channel may be one of them. If you are only able to play left or right speaker sweeps, it's either how REW is sending the signal (meaning REW is not setup for multi channel) or the receiver isn't setup to process multi channel.

Try using Straight on your AVP (which is what I use for REW multi channel sweeps). If you still have only stereo, then check your REW setup and channel sweep selections. Also make sure Pure Direct is turned off.

From the CXA-5200 user manual in the Remote section...

Thank you everyone for your help, I have had Yamaha AV receivers and now a Processor since Dolby Pro logic in the early 1990s I know about these modes so I will try both of them. I did at one point think that my windows laptop did not support 7.1 but Windows 10 states it does support it. Also on another issue this error message kept popping up on me.
