Thanks for any help you can give on this. I am an absolute newbie with REW. Unfortunately I believe that a neighbor of mine is harassing me and my family with INFRASOUND. I purchased a USB microphone that supposedly goes down to 8 hz, and I have REW on my Mac with the microphone plugged in to the Mac. All I want to is have REW monitor Db and Frequency 24/7 for a week or 2 to present to a judge. I would be grateful for any assistance someone can give me on this including letting me know if recording 24/7 for 2 weeks is possible, and if the resulting file should be manageable. I have been reading the tutorial that comes with REW and have looked and (and continue to look at) You Tube videos on how to use REW, but a simple straightforward instructions to achieve my goal would be a great help. Thank you again for any assistance you can give me.

I think you will be much more likely to get responses in the “Official REW …” forum section of the site.
I don’t think REW will directly provide what you’re asking for. Someone there may know better or know of an alternative.

Thread moved. Hopefully John has some insite.

Wayne

The SPL logger can capture SPL values for very long periods, logging to daily files. If you need to capture low frequencies use Z weighting, the usual weighting curves (A and C) roll off low frequencies, very strongly in the case of A weighting. That is capturing overall acoustic levels, to see the frequency content you need to look at the RTA. There is no option for logging that, you would need to loook at it when the troublesome sounds were occurring. If you find a recording application that can record continuously into short WAV files (I'm not familiar with what's available) you could analyse the relevant recorded files in the RTA for instances of high level you see in the SPL log.

Thank you J. I placed the same post in the Official REW forum.
