What setting should i calibrate this speaker and sub

Hi, My setup is a stereo system, where i added a subwoofer in. The problem is that freq at 117 is creating a great resonance and making the sound boomy. At normal situation where i saw most youtuber use REW to separately tune the speaker and the sub. so that the sub can product the max...

Review: Yamaha R-N803 Network Stereo Receiver

I have this unit now. Just did some measurement, and i notice few thing on this YPAO, would like to share to all. 1) when YPAO is turn on, it seem to flatten the freq around 4k region, and lower the high freq (8k to 20k). See picture 1 attached 2) The biggest impact is on the bass region...

    Sound level and SPL Question

Thanks for the help. Finally did another calibration again, and this time the sound is much better. By the way, would like to seek your advice, for a stereo 2.1 setup. How would you tune the system to the best sounding? Since my system cannot adjust the freq response purely for the subwoofer. I...

By the way for the output, should i be using Left channel only or both L+R? i feel like L+R is the way to go because i am setting the EQ at the EPO for...

    Denon AVR-X6500H or Marantz AV-7705

I decided to go with AV7705. I heard many said about AV8805, but its over my budget. I got an old SR7005, and I already impress with it. Even my wife that know nothing and has no interest in AVR agree that the marantz SR7005 sound really good and way better than Yamaha RX3080, which currently...

    Yamaha Aventage RX-A3080

Just another update. I thought I was the only one that experience the "background music/sound" and "Vocal" imbalance, but turn out that I wasn't alone after all. And it prove I have a wonderful ear. I found someone commenting the same about Yamaha AVR, but he was using the old Yamaha RX-2030...

    Denon AVR-X6500H or Marantz AV-7705

Which should I buy? I have my own amplifier, and even if I get the denon, I will be using its pre-out from day one. Knowing that Marantz AV-7705 does not have amplifier built-in and still cost much more than X6500H, I was wondering is there really an obvious ear noticeable different? In paper...

    Yamaha Aventage RX-A3080

Hi Todd, I need to say this. I am not saying that the Yamaha aventage is not a good AVR as compare to marantz as I have before. There is still tonnes of advantage of aventage, especially the sound clarity and the price point. Even the bass is much tighter than my old marantz. And the vocal...

    Yamaha Aventage RX-A3080

Hi Todd, Thanks for the help. Below is my finding 1) I'd bet money that you have "Dialog Lift" --> I do not use dialog lift. Since I am not using height speaker and just a simple 5.1 speaker, and not the fan of virtual presence surround, therefore "dialog lift" is not applicable to me. 2)...

The Truth About SVS's SoundPath Wireless Audio Adapter Kit: A Full Review

My room space is just around 20ft x 60ft. Its an open concept room design. Actually the surround speaker is just 1 meter away from sitting point, position at the rear of it. The reason why the aVR is detecting ">24meter" away is because of the bluetooth audio transmitter, that is adding some...

The Truth About SVS's SoundPath Wireless Audio Adapter Kit: A Full Review

I can think of few reason. (1) you can really notice the bass delay. (2) you need to have a comparison to identify the delay, else ms delay is really un-noticeable. Try using it for surround speaker, with front speaker wired. Then probably you will notice the 25ms is a significant delay.
