Which should I buy? I have my own amplifier, and even if I get the denon, I will be using its pre-out from day one. Knowing that Marantz AV-7705 does not have amplifier built-in and still cost much more than X6500H, I was wondering is there really an obvious ear noticeable different? In paper, one would argue that the measure of crosstalk is much better, the XLR is with really good noise cancellation or even have better THD-N. But bear in mind, that is all paper. unless my ear can pickup the different, else its just marketing gimmick to me.

So please, anyone have audit this two machine before...pls help drop some useful comment.
Thanks.

Phew. Million dollar question: will you hear a difference? Don't know.

I say this not knowing your circumstance... But, all things being equal... I'd buy the Denon if I thought there were any chance I might expand my system and add speakers in the coming year(s)... would be nice to run surrounds or atmos channels off it. I think (overall) it gives you more flexibility down the road.

All that said, if you definitely aren't expanding, go with the separate.

Quoting Marantz Marketing Material - "AV-7705's audio circuitry includes our proprietary HDAM (Hyper-Dynamic Amplifier Module) circuits and Current Feedback topology.

Even vinyl aficionados will welcome the AV7005 as it includes a highly musical MM phono input implemented with the same current feedback technology that provides seamless octave-to-octave tonal balance for line-level inputs."

This is what gives these products the Warmish Marantz House Sound... You would have to listen for yourself to know if this is your AV NIRVANA...

I decided to go with AV7705. I heard many said about AV8805, but its over my budget. I got an old SR7005, and I already impress with it. Even my wife that know nothing and has no interest in AVR agree that the marantz SR7005 sound really good and way better than Yamaha RX3080, which currently using. I never tried denon product before, guess I would have to try it another days...when I strike a lottery...
