You aren't really giving us much to go on. How is it behaving? How have you set up the device/input/output selection in REW? Can you generate output from REW through it? Can you see input in REW from it?

Are "Default Output" and "Default Input" the only choices offered for input and output? If there are other options in there it is usually better to select them. There is a 'generate debug file' option on that screen, if you attach that file there may be other helpful info in it. May also be handy to see the options offered for the Apollo in the Mac's Audio Midi Preferences app, sometimes there are further input selection controls in there.

the input and output just have default and stream 1, and both not work.
in the midi in my mac everything look fine, i try every single option in the presences of rew and nothing showing input.

Thanks for the debug file. It seems only 'Input Stream 1' and 'Output Stream 1' are available to REW (via Java). That would imply there is some other way of determining what is in the input stream and where the output stream goes, perhaps in some Apollo mixer control? It would be best to select those stream entries anyway. As an alternative you could select the built-in input on the Mac and patch the signal into that externally.

Do you get output from REW via the Apollo? If you do, what channels does it appear on?

yeah i get output , with i click test to hear the white noise i hear it. in the apollo mixer there is no special settings i change the mic input from 1-4 and still no input signal, the output from rew goes to my default output (i change it to virtual 1/2) i tried also to put it in main L main R in MIDI settings but no changes.

if u want we can connect to TeamViewer and u will can see whats going on,

What are the first 2 inputs in the Apollo list in Audio Midi preferences? Wonder if they are the ones being fed to Java/REW?

At work, sorry, can't do that - I don't know the Apollo products anyway so not sure what I could do directly.

The Null 1 and Null 2 at the start of the input list are pretty suspicious, that makes me think there should be a way to configure the Apollo to have two of the input channels appear there. From a bit of googling I suspect the Console -> Settings -> CoreAudio might be the place to configure what those inputs are.

No, not yet, needs more work in REW to support soundcards with more than 8 channels. Should be done before year end but can't say exactly when.

This was helpful for me, at least.

I was having a lot of trouble getting this to work with my Universal Audio Apollo system. My UA Console software showed that I had input but it wasn't registering in the software. REW does not seem to recognize the individual line inputs or outputs on the Apollo devices. My setup is a desktop Apollo Twin Mk2 QUAD (Thunderbolt) and an Apollo 8p.

I unplugged the 8p and routed the Apollo Twin as the sole device on the Thunderbolt chain and even though it still didn't recognize the the individual lines, using the first input on the Twin did register in the software and I have been able to calibrate the system and run a test.

Hope this helps someone else!

Hello and Thanks for the reply

I only have 1 Apollo Sound Card the other UAD's that I have are two 4 Core DSP Card so they have nothing to do with rooting
Like you I have plenty on signal in the console the problem is in the rooting, the Firewire Console don't have Core Audio option

This post might be helpful:
With the UFX or a similar multichannel interface REW only knows L and R as inputs and outputs.

So, in the Audio/MIDI application under Configure Speakers choose Analog 1 and Analog 2 as output (software playback). Sound from REW will be routed now to these channels, which in TotalMix can be routed to a hardware output, e.g. speakers. Route these channels to Analog 1 and Analog 2 hardware outputs and use loopback to send them back to REW, which expects input from analog 1 (L) and analog 2 (R), to make the interface calibration. Once the interface calibration is done and stored, the channel routing can be changed, eg to speakers.

To make a measurement, a mic input (Channel 9...12) has to be routed to hardware inputs Analog 1 (L) or 2 (R), e.g. route the mic input to a hardware output and with a cable connection to hardware input Analog 1 (L) or 2 (R). I simply connected an external mic pre to hardware input Analog 2 (R). Now the signal from REW goes through Analog 1 and 2 to Totalmix and from there to the speakers. Hardware input Analog 1 or 2 has to receive the mic signal from either an external mic pre or an hardware output through a cable connection. Voila, REW works like a charm.... Cheers

I was able to get it to work using the new beta and Apollo8p on mac Sierra and the Console app. I used the hi-Z inputs for the feedback loop, so out was R (console out 2) and in was Channel 2 (console in 2). Individual channels were muted but monitor output was not
