Thanks John.. If the scale is unforgiving does it mean one can use such an amp for measurement if one had to? I mean if one used a tube amp for listening then I suppose I should use the same amp for measurement.
Hi,
I've been using a solid state amp with UR22C for loudspeaker measurements. I decided to try to see how a tube amp would work. While doing the loopback calibration I'm seeing a very weird response. I've tried both channels. It appears that there is mains (50Hz) distortion and harmonics. I...
John, you're observation is spot on. I should've caugtht that! Moving the cable away from the power cable improved it a lot. I reduced the buffer size to 64K. Thought I'll post some screenshots in case it helps others. Also see the bottom screenshot where disconnecting the timing reference made...
Hi,
I did my first sound card calibration for the UR22C audio interface using a dual-channel setup with the output looped back from the amp to the input.
My settings are..
Sample rate: 96K
Buffer : 128K (in preferences)
Sweep Length : 512K (in measurement window)
1. Are those wiggles ok? The...
Thanks John.. The steps in the preferences screen said to create a loopback and I just wanted to confirm that when doing this with a voltage divider circuit and an amp that the way to create the loopback is to short the Rsense. Thanks for confirming that.
My calibration measurement distortion...
Thanks for the clarification John. I tried simulating the error when uping the sample rate to 192K. But I just couldn't. The offset just changed from 0.14 to 0.16. I am positive that I got an error saying the offset is too large. I think it was something like 1.16.
Regarding calibration I...
First, a huge thanks to John for making this wonderful software available to us.
This is my first time doing this. I've got the UR22C connected to a Macbook Pro M1 and am using a NAD class AB amp with a voltage divider as in the following thread except with 47K and 22K resistors and a 9.6R...
