Awesome set up @MikeyMac! First order of business... you need to tell us how this all got approval ;-). Second order of business... how does it feel to have a sub that practically dwarfs your couch!?!?

That's a beautiful dining room table, btw. Looks great! :T

You're officially our 20th Showcase System... and it's a good one. Congrats!!

Ha ha Todd it’s really cool and people say lol, my GF just let’s me get on with it which lets me indulge in my passion.
Just got the S7201 so it still got to loosen up and it sounds pretty good

That's a really great setup you have there, MikeyMac. How do you like the near/mid field location of the speakers? I would imagine it should help prevent hearing coloration due to room reflections.

Man! What a beautiful line-up of gear! As Grayson mentioned I imagine the sound is very direct nearfield sound you are experiencing and room sound is not an issue. Is there a very small “sweet spot” in tight quarters like this?

Hi
I really like the NF position over corner loaded I think the sub can breathe and do it’s thing naturally if that make sense and even in the NF the AVR tries to -15 it so I put it to -9 I like it hot

Hi
I think it’s the complete opposite the sound is more natural in the NF position with the full sofa but for the miss & highs yes there is a sweet spot due to how close the speakers are but that’s exactly the way I wanted it

Hi MikeyMac,

Thanks for the reply! I too like the nearfield sound although my main listening room is not small so I'm certainly missing out on the focus you must be enjoying. I do have some modest studio monitors in the nearfield position in my office/studio/playroom and enjoy the sound very much. Enjoy your wonderful setup!

Tom
