How many subwoofers are you using in your main system or home theater?

Wow! No clue that was possible. I had thought ASIO was the only way for my Anthem AVR to access all channels. I need to learn more about EXCL. A generous genius on this forum came up with a procedure to allow MSO to work with usual Java drivers: “You're using a miniDSP, right? If that's...

How many subwoofers are you using in your main system or home theater?

MSO is much more complex to use without the ASIO drivers. Speaker connections need to be changed. It can be done though. An awesome forum member here gave me directions.

How many subwoofers are you using in your main system or home theater?

I have 3 on a minidsp, one is passive. One is a kc62 and aesthetics limit placement. One sub adds little in response but does even out some bad seating locations a bit. I may need to try MSO but it is a pain if only can get Java drivers to work with REW. I saw a white paper on this issue...

How many subwoofers are you using in your main system or home theater?

I have 3 subs: A Paradigm ultacube 10, kef kc62, and a passive sub with 8inch driver powered by an old NAD amp bridged for mono. I have them time aligned and EQ’d on a mini dsp and presented as one virtual sub to Anthem 1140. I used the ARC on the 1140 to align the virtual sub to mains...

Can I use REW for sweeps in "Zone 2" from my AVR

Ran into a temporary glitch--"soundcard did not provide any input data from Umic-1". Saw a posted solution on this forum --start the generator first and that resolved it. I did update the OS to win 11 recently and perhaps that caused it. I hope I remember for next time. Picking the REW as...

Can I use REW for sweeps in "Zone 2" from my AVR

Thank you for the suggestion. Come to think of it after your suggestion, perhaps if I chose the REW HDMI and send to Zone 2 it will work. Not sure about adjustment strategy. Many tutorials on main room with multiple subs but not on zone 2.

Can I use REW for sweeps in "Zone 2" from my AVR

I finally have a decent setup for my music/HT area with REW as the essential tool with minidsp to align my 3 very disparate subs on my Anthem 1140. The Anthem down mixes everything for a line out that I send to a Sonos amp that my wife and I can activate with our phones. I have 2 small...

    Balancing subs with mains

Thanks very much for looking. I suspected as much. I’ll beef up the subs. I’ll try 4 dB to start. I’ll use this profile for music. Perhaps I should have limited Anthem room Correction from messing with any frequencies below 65 or so and let my mini dsp do the work.

    Balancing subs with mains

I realize many not be familiar with Arc Genesis but just looking for general guidance. My smoothing choice may not be optimal and perhaps should attach the file. From others experience do the subs look a bit too low? Thanks for any thoughts.

    Balancing subs with mains

I wonder if I could get any guidance on balancing my subs with the rest of the system. Subs seem a bit underpowered after running Anthem Arc Genesis. In brief I have 3 subs time aligned then EQ's on a mini dsp. They are aligned for the MLP only and so far can only use the Java drivers. I...

How does the 3rd sub time align and PEQ look?

I redid everything. Sub 3 (KEF kc-62) I think was the culprit. It is a few months old but some sweeps at lower levels resulted in intermittent oddly low output responses. I boosted it by 5dB and all sweeps were consistent. Perhaps I should have it looked at under warranty, but it sounds OK...

How does the 3rd sub time align and PEQ look?

Thank you for taking the time to do that and explain the results. The MLP is only slightly off ctr--my drawing was lousy. With your previous suggestions and the good output from sub 3 in the near field measurements using the filters and inversion on the minidsp, I wonder if the sub just needed...

How does the 3rd sub time align and PEQ look?

I understand. Thank you for thinking about this again. Here is a quick sketch. Sub 3 is 11 ft from the MLP. The CAO largely dictates the allowable play in the sub locations. I have maybe 6" of flexibility. I may have left out a couple critical measurements. MLP ear level is close to 2.5...

How does the 3rd sub time align and PEQ look?

Here is more information. I could work from home today and had a few minutes only. The low output in sweep sub 3 mystery was investigated with a modification of your suggestion. I didn't have time to get out the Umik-1 etc but used my phone as a rough dB meter. I used the white noise...

How does the 3rd sub time align and PEQ look?

Thank you for looking at the data and taking the time to write back. I think I had the crossovers on the two powered subs (sub 1 and 3) to bypass, but I'll check they didn't get jostled by me when I did the gain match or my cat for that matter. I couldn't for the life of me get ASIO drivers to...
