Thanks. That is obvious when you point it out. My preconceptions got in the way of understanding. Vituix does show a filter response curve and the ones exported from REW do have unity gain.
I'm using REW with VituixCAD to create equalization filters for JRiver. Jriver wants/needs a filter with nominally unity gain. I import mono filters from Vituix into REW, use REW add offset to data to set 1khz level to 0 db at 1 khz for both left and right channels, then export the pair of...
oops, check for updates on started got unchecked because I get emails but then I needed to unpin the old rew from my taskbar and put the new one there
thanks for that, new it had to be something simple
For nefarious reasons, I want to export an impulse response from REW as .txt, import it into a spreadsheet for modifications (which requires .txt), then take that modified IR back into REW. After struggling with that for a while, I simply exported an IR from REW and then immediately attempted...
That explains it although I don't recall setting any smoothing on the measurement. I have run into the cal file thing before but it keeps slipping my mind.
Assuming I have accurate cal files and for both mic and sound card, so that the response after corrected per cal file is indeed correct...
I'm exporting measurements from REW for FIR equalization and getting questionable results. This has led me to import my exported measurements back into REW and compare. Surprisingly, I find that they don't match.
When exporting measurement as text, then importing the export, I find small...
That is a very good question and one it never occurred to me to ask myself since I've been using it on default for several years but apparently, I get the mic input 1 regardless of whether I select default or Line IN.
Sorry to have bothered you
Thanks for quick response. Just learned what a sound card debug file is and attached it. In this case, I have two choices for input (below input device selection on the soundcard tab). First choice is "default" (really:)) Second choice is "LINE IN (Master Volume). I caught it in this...
I only just noticed this (blush) but probably since the separate cal files tab was added I haven't been able to load a mic cal file for my sound card, a Komplete Audio 6. On the first screen shot you can see I've configured the default input of the 1,2 input pair. On the second screen shot you...
