Understood, but I'm having difficulties to understand where the problem is because the averaging already does work both in real time and with file data. In my understanding all that is needed is using sort of a dummy process instead of the actual averaging process, which just uses the latest...
When analyzing files or real-time date with the RTA, it would be nice if one could stop the acquisition at a certain frame, starting from 1 (not 2). Also allow stopping unconditionally, not just for averages.
That would make the "stop at" option quite a bit more useful for me, for example...
Coming back to this locale stuff, looks like that is the case. Java does not seem to reflect the actual settings of the system locale, rather is uses what it thinks the settings for that locale should be.
I'm using a customized en_US locale (Windows as well as Linux) with iso date/time format...
Oh, I thought that was a very nice option and I've used it quite some times.
One can always stop the averaging manually during realtime processing so it's sort of redundant for this.
OTOH, for files you have no other way than to press "cancel" and because the progress indicators counts frames...
@John Mulcahy ,
any idea how to proceed with the issue from post #256?
Using a spare old laptop running an older Linux Mint I now could get the soundcards in question to work in REW (again with pulseaudio removed)... but the question remains, how come speaker-test and other alsa progs (like...
No change when pulseaudio is disabled (actually: package removed).
The points is, why does speaker-test (part of alsa-utilties) work? It doesn't show "device busy" (like it would when another program has opened the device already).
I double checked with 5.20.13, no difference.
@John Mulcahy
I'm experiencing problem with soundcard detection, under Linux (fresh Linux Mint install on Intel NUC).
REW (V5.20.14ea20) refuses to work with almost all USB soundcards I currently have at hand, the only working one is the RME ADI-2 Pro.
The soundcard lists fine and works with...
@John Mulcahy ,
V5.20.14ea15 raises "array index out of bounds" exception when importing (or dropping) a WAV into the RTA with a FFT size larger than the sample count in the file.
Suggestions for possible fixes:
- zero padding to end of FFT
- zero padding at start of FFT
- zero padding...
I'm going to collect a few personal feature requests here.
Feature Request #01: DC output/offset
(priority: medium)
Sometimes it would be nice to have a DC output or DC offset capability.
- simplest way to output DC would be to allow duty cycle for square wave generator to include 0% (negative...
@John Mulcahy,
bug report: "saving all measurement" into one single mdat not working, I get only a 1kB sized file containing truncated data on loading.
Using the latest build on Linux.
@phofman, using the "Daloa" theme (which has thicker window borders) and patching its "themerc" config file I now have a even higher contrast between active and inactive windows, clearly visible borders and I could finally select my favorite active color which is orange.
In REW with John's...
