Wow, what perfect timing and thanks you @pklose .
I just purchased a new EV and through a number of discussions on the main forum for the car there seems to be a small number of us in the world that are experiencing very poor and troublesome audio performance yet at the same time others are...
Dear JCR,
I think that you should pour your lovely wife a big glass of wine (maybe 2) and explain to her the importance of acoustics over aesthetics. Then cover that brick wall up with nice looking acoustics and install sliding acoustic panels that you can close over the glass doors. And then...
I turned it off. I was concerned with 2 things. 1) If somehow the key got lost or corrupted what would I do? and 2) what is the processor overhead to do the encryption?
Having said that I did not research.
Oh, one thing that I forgot. Windows 11 automatically turns storage encryption on. If you don't want it you have to manually turn it off. Turning it off takes about 1/2 hour or so depending on how much storage is used on your hard drive.
I have it installed on my laptop and one of my desktop systems. I have had 1 crash on my laptop. Other than that it has performed just fine.

I have 2 completely separate systems. One for the theater and the other for listening. The maggies are on a hybrid tube system. The screen is acoustically transparent so...
I have 6 foot maggies. They are bi-radial like your martin Logans but I never thought of diffusing behind them. Being as I know very little about acoustics these may be really dumb questions but I wish to ask anyway.
Can I ask why you considered this? Will this not send frequencies back toward...
I have a theater room that is 17Wx23Lx8.5H There is an additional 3 feet in length where I have a false wall with an AT screen. I am about to go on the journey of measuring the room and adding acoustic treatments. My plan is to use REW and a MIK-1 for this purpose.
Here is my main question. In...
Thanks you for starting this thread. I am about to begin my journey and my room is quite similar. I too have the room under the garage with 8" concrete walls. The ceiling is spancrete and the walls are all poured 8" concrete surrounded by 4" of Styrofoam and then sheetrock. I have yet do do any...
