How many subwoofers are you using in your main system or home theater?

4 SVS PB3000 eq with Minidsp using MSO to flat across 4 seats so single sub out on Arcam AVR20 with DLBC. No plans to add more

    Varying graph levels

On Macbook I was running some subwoofer sweeps ready for a MSO calculation. I'd done 20 and stopped to do something else. Coming back the Audio Midi setup on the Mac had lost the connection to my AVR (Arcam) I reconnected it. I didn't change any settings in my AVR, MiniDsp or REW and "check...

    UNDERSTANDING GROUP DELAY

I was running a few measurements on my multi subs. Is there any significance to these measurements. Comparing unaligned to time aligned subs? I use MSO so my subs are not time aligned in normal usage. Thanks

    Identical results

Sorted. It's an Arcam AVR20. Turning Dirac off gave the identical readings (although I can't imagine how) Select a Dirac filter and REW works fine.

    Identical results

I've installed a new AVR and ran the usual sweeps with different curves no problem Today I thought I'd double check the AVRs distance settings. I've done hundreds of sweeps before but this time All the results are the same for every speaker except the LFE. Timing is exactly the same FR is the...

    Timing results gone awry

There was a low level hum..not enough to bother me in normal listening but I rearranged a few power cables at the back of my rack and it has reduced significantly. Timings have returned to normal so this may have been the cause. Thanks for help.

    Timing results gone awry

Yes I hear the usual chirp. MDAT attached. Re running the same sweep multiple times gives different timing and frq plot every time.

    Timing results gone awry

I've run REW on a Macbook for some time with UMIK-1 and a Minidsp 2X4 HD. Prepro is Marantz AV7705 Today running a routine sweep of my subs, the timing results are all over the place, into 100's of ms and varying wildly from one sweep to the next. I'm using acoustic timing to the Left channel...

    Room treatment for bass

Thanks.I have done that on a previous setup and it was useful. I intend to do it in this setup but we;re in lockdown here so I'll have to wait to get help moving the sub. Previously I was only looking at freq response but this time I'm going to focus on the waterfall/spectrogram/decay plots as...

    Room treatment for bass

Thanks for responding Did a bit more measuring and it appears to be a strong room effect on the current sub location The room has a strong boost at 22HZ measured at MLP. Measuring the sub at the cone shows an inverse response at around 22hz. I am less concerned with the frequency response as I...

    Room treatment for bass

These are my measurements for my subwoofers, before and after EQ in my untreated room. My interest is in reducing the ringing..maybe with bass trapping. My questions are 1. What can I deduce from the graphs? Is my room good, bad or average? 2. I assume there is no practical way to improve at...

    Understanding phase graph

Could someone please explain what this graph shows in respect of the phase plot. Is it good, bad or so-so Thanks
