Hi sir,
final report.
I returned the laptop to get an other one.
Umik-2 + good usb connection + setting 2channels 24 bits 48000Hz inWin11
works like a charm!
Thanks
It confirms dead of the old mic!
BTW DLBC can reverse polarities of the satellites! Dirac measurements confirmed the fact that my...
It was after 9 points measurements.
Didn't trust it. I did an other run (I forgot to print screen mic level. I had -6.5dB for the loudest speaker and set it the same trim with the subs sliders and I turn up the vol in amp plate of the subs to get 5dB above the 24,9dB level of the others...
Flax said yesterday to set Umik-2 sample rate at 48KHz for Dirac so now 2 channels 24 bits 48KHz
new round with those mic levels: (followd markus767 melhau mic level to the T sub slider match the loudest speaker) and I turn up amp plate subs level to get 4 dB higher than others
Here...
It is why you see -16.9dB in sub channels for the same slider leve as the satellites at -5.0dB. Maybe you will find interesting to know tha with the old Umik-1 for more than 3 years of DLBC calculations, I always have had th following default target curve:
And with Umik-2 and all others...
With Umik-1 I always had this 4dB headroom as shownd in #41 first image. I was thinking that I could have the same headroom with Umik-2 but where trims for the satellites and for the subs are reversed...by the same dBs.
Yes but Umik-1 and Umik-2 results are for the new position of the left sub...
Thanks those are best practices followed religiously. since 10 years with the old mic when a couple of weeks ago it give the spike at 60Hz all of a sudden. FTI the miniusb connection on the back of the old mic was on a round plat that we could turn out to open the internal hardware of the mic...
Report.. AVR main vol at 56.
GREEN = Umik-1 Center 2 subs off DLBC xo92 on
RED = Umik-2 Center 2 subs off DLBC xo92 on
The SPL difference comes from we saw above in the Umik-2 trims in Arcam AVR21.
The 2 subs Center disconnected DLBC xo92 on
BLUE = Umik-1
ORANGE = Umik-2
So the new...
I sure have a lot.To test it should I :
@markus is back in AVSForum. During the investigation into DLBC above v3.4.4 and following Markus' instructions, he commented one day that my sub measurements were missing 6dB at the time, https://www.avsforum.com/posts/63189067/
I wonder if the Umik-2...
I will not. Not after all effort done to get DLBC above 3.4.4 to work finally with Arcam receivers.
I just received infos from Dirac. The new Umik-2 seems to be fine. The main reason is that the subs delays are the same between the 2 mics even if Dirac choose channel 15 instead of 16 to 0 ms...
After reinstalled Dirac and drivers for Umik-2 and super quiet room
For those mice levels
I got those trims.
I need to raise the AVR main volume of 3-4dB to get the same spl I'm used to for movies. Will check with REW soon. It seems that now, DLBC with Umik-2 fixes gain in subs and then...
Yes . I moved 1 sub to please my wife so only the last Umik-1 DLBC measurements are reliable with those I take with the new mic...and I find it.
Here the trims in my last Umik-1 DLBC project
Here the trim of this morning measurements with Umik-2 for the same target curve and the same xo at...
I calibrate Dirac with the old and did it again with the Umik-2. All others settings (mlp etc. ) are equal. Now I took a closer look at the subs measurements at MLP by both mics in Dirac. NOTICE: vol of the right sub (purple line) was 1,0dB lower with UMIK-2 so be carefull. Despite this little...
One bizar consequence of using Umik-2 with Arcam AVR-21 and DLBC. All others things being equal, DLBC changed the trims of my 2 subs by raising them of 3 dB each. I insist: all others variables or settings where strictly exactly the same in the chain, mlp, mic level settings in Dirac, etc...
