Here are two images to show things more clearly. The only difference is the amount of delay being added to my mains. My interpretation is A) I've gone in the right direction and B) I've fixed about 50% of the bass EGD.
Would love comments, especially on the spikes above my XO frequency...
Hi all, a couple questions about the attached sweep. I want to make sure I navigated the menus right so my first question is simple, does this look like a proper display of EGD? Second, your opinion please of the measurement itself - is it considered to be good or bad overall? I'm just diving...
I'm getting close to having the system I will live with forever. At least I think so ":^)
Across their (very small) production run, the 2SW-1 crossover was varied between 70 to 100Hz. I've experimented between 55Hz & 100Hz and always came back to 80. Going lower than 80 got me increased THD...
Apologies, I don't visit this forum often. Here's my kit.
Electronics are miniDSP: An SHD and also a Flex Eight
SHD output is configured 2.1 with an 80Hz 4th order XO
The 2.0 goes direct to my (amplified) speakers
The 0.1 feeds all bass to the Flex Eight, which in turn feeds all ten subs (I...
Appreciate your input, thanks. I'm trying to figure out "rules of thumb" here - the processes and procedures that are independent of the hardware you own. That's why I asked it the way I did.
But to answer the questions, my mains have a low frequency power bandwidth (-3dB point when crazy...
I have fullrange mains that I cross over at 80Hz to subs. I also use the EQ function in REW to flatten the mains.
Here's the question: In such an application should you let the EQ function process a fullrange sweep or a sweep that includes the 80Hz crossover? Many thanks.
(This is a Win11 laptop btw)
If I am streaming Qobuz and open REW, it always pauses the stream. No big deal, I just go to the Qobuz app and toggle the play button twice. The music returns but I swear it sounds different!
Please tell me I'm crazy and this is impossible, but I've repeated this...
Please see the attached mdat. Question: How does REW behave at, and below, the rooms noise floor? At some point those two curves cross - is that the magic frequency I should limit my LF corrections to? Many thanks.
I'm asking for folks to look over my shoulder here. What does this mdat file say about my speakers? What does this mdat file say about my room? Many thanks...
I had the same symptom, it must've been a Windows update that changed my mic level to 100% because I sure didn't adjust it??
Lowering to 32% as per John solved my problem.
Oops hit send too soon. I am using the "EQ" function on my main speakers and I have two questions on the basic setup for a stereo pair:
1) Should I process left main & right main separately, or process the average between them?
2) How about weighting? Any notes on that? Surely there's a...
