Please see the attached mdat. Question: How does REW behave at, and below, the rooms noise floor? At some point those two curves cross - is that the magic frequency I should limit my LF corrections to? Many thanks.
I'm asking for folks to look over my shoulder here. What does this mdat file say about my speakers? What does this mdat file say about my room? Many thanks...
I had the same symptom, it must've been a Windows update that changed my mic level to 100% because I sure didn't adjust it??
Lowering to 32% as per John solved my problem.
Oops hit send too soon. I am using the "EQ" function on my main speakers and I have two questions on the basic setup for a stereo pair:
1) Should I process left main & right main separately, or process the average between them?
2) How about weighting? Any notes on that? Surely there's a...
Hi all, I'm using the auto-EQ function on my main (full range) speakers. I'm navigating the process OK, and I'm generating good results. However I'd like to get tighter results at the low end of the band, approx. 300Hz and down. I've attached photos.
The sweep image shows (top pair) raw...
UMIK-2 is rated to 125dB, as soon as I plug it in REW reports max input SPL of 114dB.
I'm in the extreme nearfield so I'll fix my issue just by backing the mic away. But for the record, can I do anything about that 114dB limit and nudge it up to the limit of my particular mic? Thanks.
Hi all, I'm taking sub measurements very near the cone so SPL levels into REW are hitting & exceeding 114dB. I'm not sure if I need to adjust REW's input range or adjust my USB mic's gain? It's a UMIK-2.
(trying to measure THD while very loud - I'm hunting down one misbehaving sub)
Thanks!
I've already washed my mic grabs thru MSO and loaded the results into my shiny new Flex Eight. All went smooth and it's sounding great.
OK, so I've got calibrated bass. I'll get used to this for a couple days, eyeball (uhhh... "earball"?) a main/sub level balance & then layer Dirac Live on...
