Two dips in L/R FR but not in Left and Right Individually

The summing feature of REW that I use is in the "All SPL" sheet of the main REW window, then click on the upper right "Controls" button, then click on "Alignment Tool" in the window that pops up which brings up another window called "Alignment Tool". In this last window, if you select "R" and...

    Cancellation between main speakers

My questions would be: -Is my measurement with REW and interpretation, i.e., that I am getting a lot of phase cancellation between left and right speakers, correct? -Is there anything I can do about it? I tried DSP with audiolense and it actually made the cancellation worse. My room treatment...

    Cancellation between main speakers

Yes REW measurements used timing reference. Thanks for any assistance.

    Cancellation between main speakers

.mdat file attached as well as a couple plots. Figure smith1_SPL.jpg shows REW SPL for left only, right only, and both left and right speakers playing. Notice frequency regions where combined SPL is less than left or right only SPL indicating cancellation occurring. Figure smith_LmR_phase.pdf...

    Cancellation between main speakers

I am dealing with nearly the exact same issues with my room and my system. Getting massive bass cancellation. I also have a room opening on the left side of my room (entry foyer) as well as some other asymmetries in my large room. I tried measuring the left and right speaker phase separately in...

    Workaround options for sound card?

I can run AL successfully for 2.0 system via my 2017 MacBook Pro using latest parallels. Use UMIK for microphone and connect AL to my DAC in parallels windows 10 via ASIO in AL. AL sends signal to DAC which is measured by UMIK.

Newbie question: Are my corrections causing detrimental phase shifts?

Thanks to Bernt’s help this issue has been remedied. According to Bernt, a sensitivity in the correction algorithm is flipping one speaker around for my case. The solution was to change one parameter in the correction procedure designer: the 10 Hz value for the “cycles before and after peak”...

Newbie question: Are my corrections causing detrimental phase shifts?

Thanks Bernt! I had to compress the measurement file to get it attached (also emailed it).

Newbie question: Are my corrections causing detrimental phase shifts?

I have successfully created convolution filters in the past using REW and have recently purchased Audiolense (AL) to do the same (hopefully with improved results). My first attempt with AL seems to be pushing my speakers out of phase for some low frequencies leading to significantly lower bass...

Can Audiolense be run on Mac using Parallels Desktop?

This question was asked by another user in January but received no responses. Was thinking of using Parallels to run Audiolense on Mac and generate filters to be implemented using Roon's convolver section. Thanks
